Story

Grandmaster Mountain Kim, the President and founder of Mountain Kim Martial Arts, was the first person to start a Tae Kwon Do school in the metropolitan area. Today, with over 20 locations and 34 years of experience in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, his dojangs feature world federation style Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Haidong Gumdo (sword), Kickboxing, and Hapkido.

My son just finished his first month and signed up for another 6 month session.  He is loving it! He's been working out at home and practicing in his free time.  He's even enlisted his sister's help to be better at the handstands and more gymnastics related moves they are teaching the students.  The instructors are kind but have high expectations and put a lot of emphasis on respect; my son has taken that extremely seriously and his behavior at home (which was never bad) has been even better and he's even taken upon himself to talk to his younger siblings about "respect mom and dad, just do your chores". Overall it's been a wonderful experience and I would absolutely recommend it.

My kids and I have been going to MT Kim for over 2.5 years now.  The training is very good and intense with the advanced classes.  The standards are high.  The instructors are impressive in their skill and ability to convey practical application of forms, blocks, kicks, and punches.  I highly recommend MT Kim for kids and adults.

My son is going through an introductory session. He is new to martial arts, but he feels himself at home at Mountain Kim's. All instructors are very kind to him, he works a lot during classes. He even practices at home. So far it was very good for us!

That negative review from four years ago is bullshit.  My son was a member since before that time and still goes there. Until about 2 years ago they didn't even allow kids to get black belt until they were 13. That's changed, they do have to compete with the schools that push kids through the belts before they're ready.  This is a very good school and I recommend it highly.  
(Now maybe I csn get a discount on the tuition>>>just kidding).

My family loves this place! Not to mention Grandmaster Mountain Kim was a pioneer in bringing Tae Kwon Do, Judo, and Hapkido to the United States. Highly recommended!
