Historic restaurant with a great story of family keeping the tradition alive is how I would describe our visit. Beautiful homemade pies in display cases. Vegetables were lightly seasoned. I tried the pinto beans and corn bread which I thought was ok/good, nothing special. Slaw was mayo recipe which I thought was good. Tomato recipes was very sweet, but I liked it. Broiled trout was tasty, but my husband did not care for it. Coconut cream pie was great... lemon pie was just OK... We enjoyed the visit with reading all the history that was displayed. Nice place to stop for a meal.

Mrs. Rowe’s has become our go-to lunch spot traveling north on I-81. This is real homestyle cooking. Yesterday my husband and I both ordered daily specials. He picked the chicken pot pie, and when it arrived I was sorry I did not order it myself---it had a delicious-looking cornbread crust, and my husband confirmed that it was as good as it looked. It cost him a big $8.95. I was not at all disappointed in my turkey BLT, though. It was real roasted turkey breast, not an over-salted deli version; the bacon was crisp; the tomato tasted nice and ripe; and the mayo was in a little tub on the side so I could use as much or as little as I wanted. The lemon meringue pie that was included in the $8.95 special was as good as Mom’s used to be. My husband ordered coffee, and it came with a carafe on the side for refills. Our nice server asked my husband if he would like a to-go cup for the rest of his coffee, and, when I suggested he get it and let me have a sip in the car, she brought two to-go cups filled with fresh-brewed coffee. The service is as good as the food!

Best breakfast in the area! Wait staff is fantastic and their recommendations are spot-on. Very decently priced and there is a ton of food for the cost. Homemade and delicious. The pastries are the best I have ever found this far south. Service and food really rate more than 5 stars but that's all they will let me do!

Good food. I'm in school so going here feels like I'm getting a home cooked meals. They have great pies as well but can be a little pricey.
