While visiting Pittsburgh recently I googled restaurants near me and thought Nakama looked like a good bet. They offered a free appetizer if you signed up for email so I did. They wouldn’t honor the coupon because I didn’t print it. I spent $150 for 3 dinners and not free appetizers, drinks etc. The coupon does say to print it but in the digital age of cell phones and customers traveling from out of town without a printer in the back seat of car, I feel that maybe they should consider better customer service and take the cell phone coupon. No way! The food is just average although plentiful. I’m in Pittsburgh for several days every other month. I like when good customers are treated like the establishment is going out it’s way to make you come back often. I won’t be coming back ever! They saved an $8 appetizer but lost a $150 dinner customer. Very bad way to run a business.

Would have been 5 stars except for the service. Tonight was a Monday night, we got here around 8:30pm. The food was excellent as always but the service was not to be desired. It was not very busy, couple people around the bar, and the bartender was so slow! He was an older man named Greg and although he was very nice, it took him almost 15 minutes before he even noticed we were there and another 10 minutes just to get us our drinks. I could go on about what else happened but in a but shell, dont sit at the bar if he's working.

We were able to sit at the bar without a wait. Ordered our drinks right away and the appetizer. Then our sushi came shortly after we finished our appetizer. The music was 80s music, so that was nice for us. The food was very good. The service was excellent. The valet was expensive. But it was raining and it was Valentine's Day. The valet walked us with an umbrella to the door which was nice. Overall great experience.

Great place. Food was great. Went with my son for his birthday we had the sushi platter and some sushi rolls. We will definitely be going back. Parking can be difficult sometime but they even offer valet parking her that worth it

The food is always delicious and staff are very helpful with their knowledge of the menues. There is a wide enough selection that you can try many dishes and they either have a list of ingredients or the staff can advise you further. The fish for the sushi is always fresh and rolled correctly so it doesn't fall apart. This is truly a 4.7 rating as the only issue is the wait time; it can be slightly long but the location I visit is in Southside so its understandable. All in all, it's a great restaurant.
