I want to start off by saying I understand the service industry is tough because servers are sometimes paid below minimum wage and customers MUST TIP however when I order a take out, the server has absolutely no right to add extra money for themselves with my freaking credit card. I went to South Side BBQ, ordered some rib for take out and signed off the receipt on certain amount, however, when I went home and checked my credit card bill online the freaking server added more money for himself. That wasn't even the worst part, I called the restaurant on the phone asking why this happened and the server connected me to the supposed manager who told me that credit card companies sometimes immediately add tips when people visit restaurants and adjust later. Being that I just moved to to Pittsburgh, I took his word but it was complete Bullsh*t because that charge the server made is still in my freaking credit card.

We ordered from the truck at Maker Faire Pittsburgh at the Children’s Museum. This was the first time I’ve ever had South Side BBQ. I ordered the Redneck Club (brisket and pulled pork) with slaw while the rest of the family ordered the pulled pork or pulled chicken. My sandwich wasn’t bad though it was light on the meat for $9. The rest of the sandwiches were also light on meat and the pulled chicken was dried out. The meat on my sandwich was fairly moist though I like my bbq on the “wet” side. The Carolina sauce was sweet and tangy but a little watery. I prefer a thicker sauce. This wasn’t the best bbq in Pittsburgh (Pork and Beans or Two Bros. are better), but it wasn’t the worst. I’ll try it again sometime at the restaurant in the South Side to see if it’s better there.

Just the best BBQ in town. Also, the place is nice and quiet, which is rare in Southside
