Recently used this National Rental car location at YYZ. Quite easy access and car pick up. Definitely recommend joining the Emerald Club allowing you to have more choices in cars and fast check out. No need to wait in line at the counter. Just pick the car you like at the Emerald aisle area. Drive and check out at the exit gate. Easily save 30 mins instead of waiting at counter. Return is fast and easy. Fill up. Drive in. They check car and mileage. Then email you the receipt while you are walking back into the terminal. Highly recommended.

Customer Service, rates and quality of cars newer is no match than anyone else. Staff at airport is super welcoming and courteous as well as pickup and return couldn’t had been more simpler and easy than what they have. Definitely my goto place always.
No complaints at all. Staff was friendly, I went and picked my car in the Executive Aisle and drove right out - took no longer than 5 minutes. I would recommend anyone to get emerald club membership so that you lower the amount of waiting or unnecessary interactions. Only current issue is the lack of availability of cars, and I managed to grab the only SUV at the aisle. Car was clean and drove with no issues. Thanks! Update: after a few years of renting often at this location, there are a few quirks. The executive aisle does not have the level of cars that most American locations do. There seems to be very little thought as to where the cars are being parked, and there is sadly virtually no difference between the emerald aisle and the executive aisle. Status also does not seem to matter here, as premier selection which often isn’t even available costs the same to all kinds of members, even though national clearly states that executive elite members should be receiving a discount on upgrades. The conclusion I’m being forced to accept here is that loyalty does not matter to this location.
Our flight was delayed. I called customer service ahead of time and they confirmed that someone would be there 2 hours after to handle delayed flights. My 3 year old and I arrived 12 minutes after they closed and no one was to be seen. I tried calling 5 times at 9pm and no one answered the phone. I have status but will be happy to switch to another hire agency.
I had booked a car from Enterprise for my trip to Ontario to visit family. I was supposed to pick the car up for 11:30pm since my flight landed at 11:15. There was an issue with the luggage carousel and by the time I got to the car rental agency it was after 12:30 and apparently Enterprise closes, which I didn't know. National was still open and one of the employees was able to assist me. This made a huge difference as I would hand been out a lot ov money or stuck there so I definitely appreciate them and will probably rent there instead.
It was a fantastic experience picking up the rental car from National Car Rentals. Sumeet and Rochelle were very patient in explaining the changes, details, and various rental options. I always prefer National for their extended customer service.
I’m an executive member on national and used to rent from the location every week and won’t be doing so anymore because one employee carelessly ruined my experience. Instead of making it a quick and easy transaction on my way to work they charged the wrong card no questions asked and when I asked them to change they insured they would, probably said so just to get me out of there hair. This location does not stay true to their word or care to fix issues they have caused.
Very friendly service and helpful agents. We were looking for a mini van doing a one-way to the states, and they only allow US plated cars for such one-way trip. The agent there walked around the lot to help us find one of those cars available for one-way trip to the states, and made a few phone calls to even ask for those vehicles from the garage. All the time he was friendly and happy to service us. Comparing with other car rental companies, this is exactly why I almost always choose Nationa. Professional service and great cars in good condition. Highly recommend.
Very dishonest, not divulging the correct hidden fees and not returning calls or emails when asked to. I recently rented a car from the National Car Rental Office at the Toronto International airport. The rental of the car was roughly $35 plus Premium Location Fee of 17.67% plus tax. I was asked if I wanted to pay for the gas upfront and return the car empty at the cost of $1.52/ltr or $75.70. I agreed. To my surprise when I returned the car I was charged the Premium Location Fee also on the gas purchase plus sales tax on top of that. For a surcharge on the gas of more than 30%. When I was offered the gas deal there was no mention on the surcharges on the gas. National head office was no help in disputing these charges but directed me to the manager of the airport location. The manager replied back via email that the Premium Location Fee applies to all cars and that he would not refund me for the fees. He would not discuss with me about my arguments the fee should not have been charged on the gas or that it should have been divulged to me when offered the purchase. I sent numerous emails and my number to the manager and he won't respond. Beware of this scam when purchasing gas at this location, not sure it happens at all locations but it does at National Car Rental at Toronto International Airport
