We visited Nepheles every night we stayed in South Lake Tahoe. Our local friends raved about the place and we certainly had a good time the first 2 nights. The food is mouthwatering and delicious. The ambience is cozy and very inviting! On our last night, we were disgruntled with the service provided by the gentleman bartender (bearded fella working Saturday night). His vibe wasn't friendly, and if we had any doubts about the service they were gone due to his utter lack of attention to our group of 9 people. He did visit the table next to us about 8 times in half hour (young local women on first name basis with the staff). The contrast in the service agitated our group all the more. However, I'd still recommend Nepheles for their food, ambience, and the competency of the rest of the staff.

We had the New Zealand Rack of Lamb and the Elk Special. Food was cooked perfectly and our service was excellent! Restaurant had a great vibe. Not too formal but not super casual. Great for a date night. Again, service was impeccable. Thank you!

Nice servers. Old building needs update. Food was below average. Orange roughy special was very fishy and didn't taste very good. They were nice to take it back and we got the Asian chicken wraps which tasted horrible and were soupy. The chicken is supposed to be dry for Asian wraps. We were tired so we didn't complain about those and just paid and left. The soups and salads were good. The meatball sandwich was good. The people at the bar near our table were loud and cursing. Not a nice atmosphere for dinner. Do not recommend this place.

Amazing atmosphere, amazing food and service. Whether you want a exceptional dining experience or just relax and have a drink at the bar, highly recommended
