The Nevada Ear + Sinus Institute is a team of highly specialized otolaryngologists and audiologists serving the Las Vegas and Henderson communities with comprehensive medical and surgical care for diseases of the ear and sinus. Our services include hearing loss care, hearing aids, hearing protection, custom earmolds, balance treatment, allergy treatment and sinus treatment. Our audiology department is a full-service hearing aid center that uses the latest advances in diagnostic and therapeutic technology to provide our patients with the best possible outcome when medical or surgical treatments are not indicated. The Nevada Ear + Sinus Institute also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies and is one of the few centers in the region that offer both intradermal and sublingual (by mouth) allergy desensitization plans.

I've been going to Dr. Mathei for 27 years, great Doctor, he cares about his patients, he's absolutely the best! My son had surgery, my husband had surgery, they loved him too. Too bad every doctor isn't like him, good at what he does and a wonderful bedside manner.

I love my Doctor and the staff! They have the care and compassion that'd you hope for, but most of all they go above and beyond for their patients! You couldn't ask for a better place to go to.

I have dealt with a lot of people in my life. Therefore, I know when someone cares about someone's well being and someone who doesn't. Manthei definitely falls into the category as a not caring doctor. When I told him what I'm experiencing such as issues with my ear, nose, and throat, his response was, "each issue would be a different visit." Isn't this what it is called ENT? I am not a doctor obviously, but wouldn't he want to hear my other issues as to maybe perhaps it can be related to something? He was very short about things and technically sent me away for a referral just like that and told me to make another appt. for allergy testing. The company I work for has a very good health insurance coverage. I can tell this office only cares about trying to get as much from my health insurance as well as coming from my out of pocket expenses. I promise you, do your research and try to avoid this office. (How is it possible that this review section doesn't allow you to give a zero star?)

Reading some of the other reviews, makes me think.. it must be some biased reviews.

Very nice place the doctors are really on the ball and helpful. Only one thing keeping me from 5 stars, the receptionist was pretty rude. On the phone scheduling my appointment she was veey snappy but i didn't think anything of it. When I came in for my appointment she handed me some papers to fill out and didn't say much. I noticed the same attitude as before with her on the phone and at the desk. The time I scheduled came and past and a few minutes past the schedule I asked if I should go in. She said "no, just wait for the doctor." I did. 35 more minutes passed and I went up to the desk again. She was on the computer and I asked what was going on. She said "it's only been 10 minutes wait for the doctor." in a very rude tone. I looked at my watch, then at my phone just to be sure. I said "no, it's been 35 minutes." She then replied with "you can leave and reschedule if you want, the doctor is busy." Although I was aggravated, I didn't want to cause a scene so I went and sat down. Almost an hour late, the doctor came out. We went to the room and she apologized for the wait&that she was caught up with another patient and I said it was fine as I didn't have anything else to do that day. That's all it had to be with the receptionist, a "sorry for the wait but the doc is busy helping someone else." The thing keeping me from giving lower than 4 stars is the friendliness, genuine concern, and professionalism from the rest of the staff. They treated me and everyone else I saw there really well. (Even though that ear vacuum hurts terribly when they have to go deep lol.) Overall great place. Would recommend it to my friends.

I had a 9:30 appointment with this practice, as a new patient.  I arrived at 9:12 to get all my paperwork done early, which it was.  At 9:55 I reminded the receptionist that my appointment was for 9:30 (which she had also originally stated) and asked when I might be seen.  I was taken to a side room that was not the actual treatment room, I guess as a holding pattern.  At 10:12 I asked again when I might be seen, and given no answer let reception know that I would have to leave.  I got only an apathetic "Ok I will let them know."  No attempt at an apology.  I understand that doctor's offices get backed up over the course of the day, but even then there is normally an attempt to let people know that the office is busy.  At 9:30 am, getting backed up over half an hour would seem unusual, and at least acknowledging that it's unfortunate would seem simple courtesy.
