Zero starts! Buyer beware!!! I bought new two trucks from this place, first truck was an awesome experience. So was the Second truck at first. Chris is an awesome guy! Ask for him, but the sales manager Shawn is a total joke! He sold me a maintenance plan, that he told me "covers ALL maintenance that's in your owners manual for 75k or 5 years, so all you have to do is just drive the truck". Turns out the plan is only good for just oil changes. Totally unacceptable for Shawn to lie. I've been trying to get this straightened out but Nissan of Athens keeps blowing me off. Keeps telling me someone will call me and no one never does. Nissan of Athens was so good with my first truck, but something changed. So bottom line, they treat you good before the sale but after the sale they are just like any other dealer. Better off going to carriage nissan. Wish I did.

This review is very long, but it covers in detail the terrible experience I had at Nissan of Athens earlier this summer. I bought a used Honda CR-V from Nissan of Athens a little over a month ago, and it's been hassle after hassle ever since. When I paid for it they told me I couldn't drive it home until the next day because they needed to replace the air compressor-- that was no problem. However, my sales associate, Darius Ross, said they'd fix it "first thing" the following day so that I could get it and take it home as soon as possible, as I was without transportation (hence the need to buy a car in the first place). The next day, I waited around for their call that it was ready, but it never came. I finally called Darius mid-afternoon, and he said the truck with the part they needed wouldn't arrive until 3, so the car would be ready around 5. At 4:45 Darius called and said the truck with the part never came in, so it would be ready the NEXT day around noon, and that they would call when it was ready. The NEXT day I still hadn't received a call, so around 12:30 I finally called them. However, no one knew what I was talking about because apparently Darius had taken a personal day and hadn't passed the responsibility of calling to inform me of anything to anyone else (I was told he had a sick child, which I understand; however, I still feel it's important to ensure that your clients will be taken care of if you are required to miss a day for any reason). Once I was finally able to speak with someone who knew what I was talking about, they told me the air compressor had been fixed first thing that morning and was just sitting in "clean up," to be cleaned and detailed after maintenance, but that it hadn't even started the cleaning process. This was an hour after I was told it would be my car would be ready to take home (a day after I was initially told my car would be ready to take home). They told me they would have it ready by 2:30. At 2:45 I arrived at Nissan of Athens (late, to ensure I wouldn't have to wait around in case it wasn't ready on time). The car was pulled up to the front, but Jeremy didn't seem to know that and walked off to find it before I could tell him I already knew where it was. Once he had finally located it in the front driveway, he came back to me and told me the car only had a quarter tank of gas (I had been told initially that I would drive off the lot with a full tank). He left to fill up the tank at a gas station down the road and when he returned approached me with the temporary license tag and said, "Did Darius put one of these on your car? I found this in his desk but I'm not sure if it's yours or not. Let me find out." I found this incredibly unprepared and unprofessional of him. We ascertained that it was my temporary tag, so I was finally able to leave with my car. As I was pulling out of the lot I noticed that he had only filled up the tank halfway. At this point, I was just done, and filled up the rest of the tank on my own dime rather than deal with going back to Nissan of Athens.a Fast forward to now, the beginning of August. My maintenance required light came on and my digital oil life gauge said that my oil life was at 15%. I found this incredibly surprising, given that I was told they had changed my oil and everything at Nissan of Athens prior to me buying it and driving away with it. I called them and, after having my call transferred back and forth between the same two receptionists several times, was told there was no record of an oil change being done on my car. I said that that was very surprising since I had a sheet of paper detailing the maintenance work done on the car prior to me purchasing it, including an oil change. I was put on hold for 10 minutes, and when they took me off hold they told me they HAD done an oil change but had probably not "reset the light, which needed to be done manually." Whether they were telling the truth or not, this was still an oversight on their part which should not have been overlooked.

The only reason they are getting a 2 is because the 2 sales people that tried to help me were nice. The sales manager however has lost all of my future business with Nissan of Athens. I have received a few calls from nissan of Athens wanting my 2016 car for their used car inventory. I told them my situation with my payment, my intrest rate and as I wasn't sure that I would be able to make a move on a different car at this time because I was upside down. The sales lady that called me talk to her manager, call me back and assured me that the manager said that there is something they could work out with me because of incentives they have going on they should be able to keep my payments same. So this morning I get up I go to Athens Nissan. They look over my car, I test drive a 2017 car that had obvious Tire / balance issues. They come back to me and tell me the best they could do would be a higher interest rate a higher payment ($100) and $1500 down OR a lower interest rate no $ down for $150 more a month. I'm scratching my head going really that's not what I was told last night or this morning by the manager. Why would a buy a car one year newer for a higher payment and a higher interest rate? That was a total bait and switch if I have ever seen one. Nissan of Athens has completely lost my respect and my business for wasting my time.

Pass Nissan of Athens; do not collect a new or used car. Do not stop!!! It seems their ratings have improved, but I see some very negative ratings, so seems their dangerous and deceptive practices still exist. Let's be clear, Nissans are great cars. For almost 20 years, I've been with Nissan, involving 5 different vehicles, 1 new and 4 used. But the first 4 I got from Nalley Nissan, made the mistake last time of going to Nissan of Athens. DO NOT GO THERE. They are liars and thieves, my car did not pass the emissions testing, they gave me a story, told me to wait a 100 miles and do it myself and send them the bill, still have not been repaid. I won't go into the other deceptive strategies they did. Please, protect yourself, do not go there; you have been WARNED. But do get yourself a Nissan; I recommend Nalley Nissan; they're actually not that far from Athens.
