I wish ZERO Stars was an option. Absolutely the worst "customer service" department experience I have every seen. I've called and left 2 messages for their "proof of insurance" department with no luck at a return phone call. When calling the "customer service" department without even looking up the policy the lady said she will not help me. When asked to speak to a supervisor her response is "he'll tell you the same thing." At least he tried to look up the policy information. 

I completely understand privacy regulations but if I already have a copy of their certificate of liability and just need an updated one that is not expired in order to pay your client you should be happy to assist in any way to help them grow their business. Or perhaps take a look at their policy and see if our company is listed as an "additional insured or interested party" before down right screaming at me over the phone. 

When asked if they could contact their client and get verbal permission over the phone to send this to me I was told "no that is not how we do business."  How do you do business because it is not customer service? It is not looking out for your clients best interest! Clearly someone needs some additional building rapport, customer service and sales training.

I had a great experience with Leon and his office. I had to call in several times and they were very patient. I'm glad I found them before I moved to other agency. He was able to bundle some things and actually saved some money on my auto insurance. I would suggest this agency.

North Star Insurance offers an experience that is uncommon in today's world of faceless online experiences- Leon and his team will take the time to sit with you and really walk you through the process of getting the best possible rate that reflects the level of coverage you want.  

In my experience this included not only the costs of different levels of coverage but also a frank discussion of what the costs and benefits of that coverage entailed.  

I felt like I was being offered insurance from someone who wasn't trying to up-sell me, but also wasn't going to let me get the cheapest cut-rate coverage that would leave me and my family dangerously under protected.  Leon found things to trim back the cost in some areas but cautioned me to not cut other things even though it would save me money, and explained why the risk wasn't worth it.  It was refreshing to have this explained, and I felt like a real measured decision was made as opposed to my "one size fits all" experience at big online competitors.

I'm their former customer and glad that I left them!
Be careful if you need to renew your policy with them, they impose extra fees of their own.
I also agree with other reviewers regarding the worst customer service.

North Star Insurance Agency is a phenomenal agency  to work with. They were extremely easy to work with, alway respond quickly and an absolute dream company to do business with. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for  car insurance!
