i went here in 2013. being honest it really sucks to be there, but thats just in the perspective of a student. the staff was usually helpful and trying to help students succeed. There are a lot of rules and unnecessary things I really cant respect about that school. But i can't say I did not benefit by going there for a year.

The team at the Oakley School is top notch. The culture is fun, supportive, safe and encourages healthy changes. Seeing the students interact and participate in varying activities is eye opening and I am in awe of the students there. They are impressive, motivated and wonderful kids growing and making healthy relationships along the way. I would recommend the Oakley School to anyone looking for a place to work on their academic, therapeutic and extracurricular activities in a supportive and fun environment.

Our family is only part way through the process so I will update at the end. As a parent I greatly appreciate the opportunities we have to visit with our child, they are very open to us coming often to visit and take our son off campus when eligible. We have family members close by who are allowed to come and visit or even take him for a day as long as he is doing what is needed. Our son has even been able to have friends, with proper permission, come and visit which I feel is really helpful in alowing him to maintain healthy connections. I feel like Oakley makes every effort to give them opportunities to succeed, as well as to fail. The choice is theirs. When mistakes are made, Tons of support is provided, even if the students don't appreciate it at the moment. As a parent I can see and feel that every effort is made to help give them the skills they need to communicate better about how they are doing and what they need, To advocate for themselves in a healthy and respectful way. I know that it can be a struggle to get along with all of the other students there, but that is a reality of life. Some personalities are going to clash ( in college, in the work place, and at home) But it is giving him an opportunity to learn how to deal with those differences in a successful way. I know this is not where my son wants to be right now in his life, but I am hopeful that he can gain the skills to get himself where he wants to be later on in life.

I went to this terrible school for unwanted children, DO NOT support this school or any of their practices. DO NOT send you children here.

This school changed my son's life. It may not be an easy place to be, but they do a fantastic job. In addition to providing a structured therapeutic environment, their academics were excellent.
