The price is right for those on a very tight budget.  The mattresses were worn out, the floor had a coating of sand so when you walk from the bathroom to the bed you have to wipe your feet clean.  Other than the floor, the room was clean.  The window A/C worked but the overhead light didn't.  Cable TV and free internet work fine.  Microwave , fridge and coffee maker and toaster.  Bring your own supplies of course.  I was in Room 3

Beach is right across the street.  A couple of restaurants within a mile.

If the beds weren't so worn out I'd have given it another star.

Enjoyed our stay.  Beautiful location on Ormond Beach.  This is an older motel and has not been updated, BUT it is clean. Good deal for the money.  Comfortable bed.  Room had a fridge and micro, but no coffee maker, no hair dryer, shampoo, etc.  Bring your own.  Some rooms do have kitchenettes.  Owner very nice.

Returned from here yesterday.  Room had bugs on coffee maker, young man said to "throw him some cash" to upgrade our room,  towels were small/well used, had to go find my own toilet paper after reminding him 2 times and beach in front of the beach was blocked with thick seaweed.  Suggested he rake this and his answer was "I've heard that before but out of my hands"  New owner since last month.

Absolutely amazing! Suggest everyone to stay here! Real southern hospitality! The manager is super nice and will do everything to make sure your stay is one of a kind!

I have been coming to the Ocean Crest for 30 years and it has consistently been clean, well kept and a great value. It has had the same ownership throughout this time. The motel is older. It was built in two stages; the first in 1945 and the second in 1951. Thus, If you are looking for a new, multilevel resort, with a pool and hundreds of screaming kids, pay 3x the price and stay at the Marriott because this is not it. However, if you are looking for a quiet, quaint "mom and pop" motel that is clean and well maintained, you will like the Ocean Crest. It is located north of the hustle and bustle of Daytona. The beach is beautiful and never crowded. It is a great place to come for a quiet, relaxing beach getaway at a very reasonable price. Another huge plus for us is the fact that it is "pet friendly". We are able to bring our two small dogs with us instead of having to board them. We love it. When perusing reviews, I see that the vast majority of people have had the same positive experience. The few 1 or 2 ratings are given by people who were not considerate enough to actually write a review explaining why they choose to impugn this wonderful motel. Perhaps it is best that they not return and ruin the wonderful vibe of the Ocean Crest.
