I got a really dumb speeding ticket...It was my first day moving here and I didnt know the speed limits. I was only going about 15 miles over the speedlimit and the cop was rude and inconsiderate and had something in his teeth. Also, he didnt even show up to court because he knew he was wrong. I shoulndt have gotten this ticket especially since it wasnt even my vehicle. I stole it from the sheriff that pulled me over, and for some reason he still came after me. Its ok though because he neeeded the workout.

If my experience this afternoon is any indication, the OCSD has some seriously incompetent people working in law enforcement. Was leaving Aliso-Wood Canyon mountain biking area, heading out on the only exit out of that park, which is Awma St. There is only one way in from Crown Valley, and one way out on the opposite end of Awma, since the bridge at Crown Valley has been determined unsafe for two way traffic (so they let one way traffic in) and the exit street is only one lane in one direction also, since for some reason they have one of two lanes blocked off also. Just try to get out at 3pm on a school day, it takes over a half hour to go a half mile. As I was heading out the only way you can get out, I noted several Sheriff's SUVs parked at the top of Awma Rd on the "out" section. and there was a helicopter circling the mountain bike area in the distance, presumably a medical rescue of some kind. This chopper was one canyon over, it wasn't even in the immediate area of the Sheriffs. If it was still circling it had not yet dropped the basket or gotten the injured party into the chopper yet, but the OC Sheriffs were securing the upper road into the canyon (which intersects at the "out" section of Awma Rd) so if necessary, an ambulance could get in (or out) which based on the location and activity of the chopper was at least a half an hour away from happening. These sheriffs were completely inept at directing traffic, one officer was motioning to go forward, the other motioning some other way, which wasn't exactly a clearly discernable hand gesture. All they had to do instead of waiting until people exiting Wood Canyon got right up to the intersection of these two roads, was use one vehicle to block traffic from Awma, with one officer (calmly) directing traffic to back up or turn around. But they didn't do that, so the one officer was screaming at people to turn around, getting all red in the face, acting in a really hostile manner, like the circumstances had reached a crisis situation and he was under heavy pressure. This cop was actually freaking out and having some kind of mental breakdown because I couldn't understand his hand signal and moved forward A FEW FEET which was what I thought he was motioning me to do--when the situation wasn't at the critical stage at all. I misread his cue, assuming he was motioning for me to go forward and he completely freaked out and started screaming at me in a hostile, very aggressive manner to "get the f out of here! JUST GET OUT OF HERE". Doesn't anyone teach these cops any alternatives of communication beyond fight or flight? He was yelling at me in a loud, angry, hostile tone as though the ambulance was coming through right at that second. This guy was a tall, overweight, loudmouthed panic-stricken cop, who is the kind of guy who would shoot down someone in cold blood when there is no immediate threat, because he CAN'T HANDLE even minor stress of directing traffic, and CAN'T EVEN HANDLE HIS OWN EMOTIONS. Don't they "train" these people how to handle stress? It wasn't even a remotely urgent or stressful situation at that moment, and this guy was completely out of control, angry red-faced and yelling at the top of his voice. All this situation does is reinforce my position that I would not call a cop for help even if I were dying and hope to god there is never any other reason to come into contact with these people. I don't know about the others that day, but this tall, overweight, loudmouth officer has a completely ass backward conditioned response as to how to "deal with the public" screaming at people like he's protecting the president from an assassin who is 20 feet away, and thinks people are mind readers no matter how confusing their hand signals were even if we can't tell WTF they're trying to communicate. Can't even direct traffic without freaking out and getting angry. And they need to do something with the road in and out of this park, it's seriously the most inefficient flow of traffic ever, if there is any vehicle traffic at all, it's a nightmare.
