This department has excellent response rates. The officers with one (horrible exception) are simply outstanding. I gave them 4 stars because of one incidence that to this day, still bothers me and should bother any parent as well. One of my daughters had a flat tire 1/4 mile down from the sub station on the same street in Lake Forest at 11:15pm. I counted 21 police vehicles pass us by and not one offered to stop to render assistance. This is beyond despicable. If this was any of the Sheriffs daughters at this time at night, one would expect they would be just as mad and and concerned as I was. I even put a portable flashing cherry on  top pf the car (from my NY time) and even with that blinking, which can be seen well over a mile away, let alone 20 feet of each passing police car, no one stopped. If this was a shift change, stop and help a young lady. Finally after 30 minutes a very nice female officer stopped and offered assistance. By them the problem was resolved. With this one exception, I feel very privileged to live in Lake Forest with truly the finest police force in my experience. Last time I was at the Academy, they were teaching that emergency blinking lights are a reason to stop and inquire as to the reason they are on. 21  cars must have failed this question, since they did not stop. You folks do great work and I harbor no ill will toward the department for this event, because I know when I need them, they are there very quickly.

The officers are extremely helpful and kind!!! I’ve needed their consultation several times, this sheriff station is great!!!

Terrible public service! I called the Lake Forest Sheriff's office to see if there was any way that I could come in to the station to transfer title and payment for a vehicle I am selling on craigslist, that way both parties involved can feel secure. There are a lot of scams/robberies that result from craigslist sales and just want to make sure everybody is comfortable. The man over the phone was extremely rude and told me absolutely not. He stated that has nothing to do with the sheriff's dept. because it is not criminal. SERIOUSLY!!!!! You wont let citizens (who you are supposed to serve and protect) simply walk into your lobby so they can feel secure and safe? I guess Orange County Sheriff's only care about something after a crime has been committed and has no care to prevent crime. YOU WONDER WHY PEOPLE HATE COPS!
