I have had to use this ER before, almost a year ago. I had to use them again a few nights ago. My poor baby ate one of my rings. He had to have surgery. The staff was so caring and the doctor was amazing. My baby received excellent care and I am so thankful they were there. Dr. Fedash is wonderful and so are their staff.

If I could place ZERO stars, I would. I was treated with so much empty disrespect by the VET herself, ALLISON FEDASH. Yeah, I'd like to tell you a few things. What happened the other night was absolutely atrocious - I offered (because it was literally ever penny I had at the moment) $900 as a down payment on a diaphragmatic hernia in my 2 year old cat had. She would only accept $1,400 as the lowest to perform the surgery. I have a full-time job and can easily pay off debt. I could have signed any forms, anything. I was told to euthanize him or pay boldly, with absolutely no care in this woman's voice in the slightest. I said no, that I was not going to allow her to kill him and sadly didn't have the financial ability to afford 500 more dollars.. So, I signed my boy kitty out, PAID $700 for a VISIT with XRAYS (NO SURGERY) not a word of care came from anyone at this facility. No genuine care. She sent me home with a letter stating she recommends to pay for his surgery or kill him... and that she was REPORTING ME TO THE AUTHORITIES for deciding to take him HOME TO DIE - (actual text in letter and verbal threat in exam room) SO! I scheduled surgery the next morning to happen at Paw's and Claw's (Wonderful place to go, wonderful people) and sadly Boykin did not make it to the surgery before passing away. The veterinarian stated that if Boykin got into surgery earlier, he would have made it. They are there for your money. Don't trust these people with your pet. Unprofessional. Bandits. Sue worthy. My cat was back there DYING because he COULDN'T BREATHE and these workers were in the back room LAUGHING AND RUNNING THE MICROWAVE while figuring out how to phrase their SALES PITCH

Staff was EXTREMELY unprofessional. Do not take your animal here. I have had SEVERAL bad experiences with Dr.Smith alone before she was even at this location. She misdiagnosed my dog and said she would die in hours, tried to get me to spend hundreds of dollars. I recently went to pick up my 8 weeks old puppy after 24hr hospitalization and they would not release MY DOG. I was attacked ... yes PHYSICALLY attacked me. The receptionist slammed the clipboard down and said she wouldn’t help me because I had waited 1:30 mins for discharge papers and I was getting impatient. We followed her and said we just want our dog. The entire staff began pushing and shoving us. I recorded it all. One lady snatched my phone. I remained calm, they got on the phone with the police while I also called & said they feared for their lives although they physically hit me and took my phone. I will not stop until this is taken care of & I will sue because I don’t think they actually cared for my puppy while she was with them. I only received one update in 26hours ... 1 UPDATE !! This is the most unprofessional environment ever. Oh and did I mention that medical information was shared without my consent.

I work a night shift so my "OMG my dog/cat needs to see a vet now!" moments tend to happen at 3am when their normal vet is closed. PERH is my emergency vet of choice. Over the years I have encountered very good vets and not so good vets. At their best they have been lifesaving. At their worst...well, no harm no foul (for me, anyway!). It is expensive but that comes with the territory. My one big HUGE complaint about this place is that the primary emergency vet (who coincidentally happens to own the clinic) insists on doing normal vet work at emergency vet rates. For example, I once took my cat in because I feared she had was developing Bloat (a life threatening condition) after a way-too-close encounter with motor oil. I wanted her to get some blood work and possibly another bath. The vet was insisting on x-rays and evaluating her for a "minor" (his description, not mine) back injury. When her blood work came back clear I had to insist on taking her home against his recommendations. It wasn't that I didn't appreciate the vet's thoroughness or that I didn't take the possibility of a [minor!] back injury seriously but my wallet wasn't bottomless. My cat wasn't going to die of a sore back. But my bank account might have if he had done everything he wanted to do. I still trust this place over the one downtown but watch your wallet and don't check your spine at the door.
