Pecan Street Insurance is an independent agency that works with multiple, reputable insurance companies in Texas and connects people with Home, Auto, and Life insurance. From this wide selection of companies and policies, we compare the different insurance policies and recommend the one that best fits the customer’s need and budget.

Mission

Our goal is to help people in Texas save money on their insurance, while maintaining the service of a dedicated local agency.

Products

We currently offer personal lines property, casualty, and life insurance products from companies with at least an A rating from AM Best. Some of our top companies include MetLife, Travelers, Hartford, Allied, Kemper, Progressive, Safeco, and ASI (American Strategic Insurance).

Delayed the closing of my home.

Sent over all information directly to a representative. Filled out all appropriate forms. They sat on this for a little over a week until my lender hit me up saying that the insurance had not been completed and they were having trouble contacting these guys.

Come to find out that they were just sitting on it. 

Then later, find out that they input the wrong address requiring the insurance, thus setting me back on my closing. 

Contacting these guys became a chore, a lot of conflicting information and by going with the company that handled my car insurance, I saved $400 a year.

My family had a very excellent experience with Pecan Street Insurance.  Going through difficult financial times, we were doing a complete overhaul of our budget and paring down any expenses we could.  The folks at Pecan Street Insurance were an immense help in finding both auto and homeowner's policies that contained the coverage we needed at a much more affordable rate than the ones we had previously.  They also pursued some little-known discounts that happened to apply to us, acting as our agent when negotiating with the insurance company and in handling the paperwork for much of the process.

Their treatment of us was friendly, considerate, prompt, professional, and overall exactly what we wanted when we chose to use a local agent rather than simply sign up with some large company on our own.  I highly recommend Pecan Street Insurance.

I might point out, in regard to the statements made by "anonymous" in their review of Feb. 14, 2011, that Pecan Street Insurance is an agency, not an an insurance company.  Therefore, they do not set pricing for policies.  Premium hikes are the decision of and are implemented by the insurance company, not the agency.

Again, highly recommended.

I have had both my homeowners and auto policy with Pecan Street for over 5 years now.  While I have not experienced a major loss during that period, I have experienced smaller claims, as well as changes in pricing.  2 years ago the cost of my homeowners policy was set to increase significantly and the Pecan Street staff actively helped me find a competitive and high quality policy (also moved our cars as well).

So far every time I have called, they have been helpful and great.

This company uses deceptive information to get low quotes and then hits you with a higher premium later on. I know this because worked there for a short period of time. They are deeply unprofessional and inconsiderate when dealing with employees, and that do not depart from that behavior when dealing with their customers. Buyer beware.
