Woderful little gem of a museum. Has great exhibits for young children. Mine are 4 and 6 years old and sometimes prefer it to a trip to the zoo. They're favorites are the water tables, hands on habitat, and small reptiles/ bug tanks. Their butterfly room is also quite lovely. We come on Thursdays when its free for residents, but get there early, parking is hard to come by even though there's lots of it. Again, caters more towards the little ones so keep this in mind when you visit.

This Museum is great for kids and adults alike. Always love to visit The Butterfly Haven, one of the coolest things to do at a museum. Lots of butterflies, the kids (and adults) love when they land on you. They always have lots of hands on exhibits for children and if adults want to join in too, that's allowed. Yes, there is always a lot of children around, on weekdays a lot of field groups from schools invade the museum, but, there is plenty for everyone here to see and do. The museum, specifically Butterfly Haven also has an adults-only fun evening event the last Tuesday of every month. It’s a unique chance to stroll around the museum with no kids in sight and take advantage of a cash bar serving local beer and wine. Don't miss the trails outside the building for an extra outing with you family! #CityExperts @GoogleLocalCHI

We had a great time visiting the Peggy Notebaert nature museum. We went for the butterfly garden, and it did not disappoint. My 18 month old LOVED the "'flies!" and still brings it up to us all the time. We might be back this weekend too.

If you have kids and need a place for them to learn and play, this is your place! From the butterfly haven to the play space which includes imaginary learning it keeps young children enthralled and entertained. They have demonstrations with live animals and displays to engage the senses which is great for children. On Thursdays, there is a free day
