The art institute is an outstanding place and is also a must have visit to learn about the outstanding culture that this beautiful country had in terms of arts. It gives a good view of the impact from various other countries as well. It was great to see the Indian artist also featuring in this beautiful place. Swami Vivekananda spoke at this place and I wanted to see this place for several years...Had a fantastic time. The only challenge was limited time at my end....however made the best use with what I had!

Great place and amazing collection. It would take days to properly see it all. I loved the Impressionist area & the miniature rooms in the basement are also amazing. So BIG. One star off for high prices as it is high entrance fee. Plus entrance fee only good for ONE day. It would be nice for tourists if the ticket was good for more than one day as seeing it all in one day impossible. I would have gone back if I did not have to pay again the next day. Ending on good note, food & beverage areas are excellent with many options. Lot's of places to sit.

I sometimes can be difficult to sell on art museums but this museum was fantastic. I enjoyed the easy to navigate setup allowing you to pin point styles of art you enjoy. Staff is stationed throughout the facility with one usually never as far as 50 feet. This museum definitely takes a few hours and that is flying through to see everything. Definitely recommend.

There is so much to see here - unless you're planning to breeze through everything, it's not a bad idea to consider splitting your visit into two days. My favorite was the Impressionism section, which features a surprising number of Monet pieces. The ancient Greek and Byzantine coins and archaelogical artifacts were super cool too and came with interesting explanations. There is also a great Surrealism section. Be warned that the Modern wing is probably not kid-friendly (suggestive nudity) - didn't seem to bother some parents, but I wouldn't have brought my young children.

Had a fantastic time. As people who appreciate art but get museum fatigue, we enjoyed going for about 2.5 hours and getting through a lot of the big stuff. Would definitely go back again and could easily spending another few hours there! 

Also  be sure to check out the sweet old times Conan O'Brien sculpture!
