Story

In 1902, Augustino, Salvatore and Michael Sunseri formed the company that is now known as the Pennsylvania Macaroni Company. It was not easy. It never is. They started out by manufacturing pasta. Now, Pennsylvania Macaroni Company is known as one of the premiere specialty food operations in the country! We stock over 5,000 specialty products and sell over 200,000 pounds of cheese each week!!

Don't miss this store if you're ever in the strip district or nearby. They have a wonderful cheese counter with some of the best cheese I've ever tasted. ( Try the Leicester cheddar or the aged Gouda). They've also got a great selection of produce, Olive oils, and almost anything you'd want for great Italian cooking. I'd go in here just for the smells.

Great place for authentic Italian and international food, spices, and olive oil. Their deli meat and cheese selection is amazing. Loved the Drunken Goat cheese. Fresh olive oil from the tap is something I've never seen anywhere else. A must stop spot for anyone in Pittsburgh and the Strip District

Pennsylvania Macaroni Company is one of those "Must experience it!" kind of places. Think authentic Italian grocer, wherein the phrase is well beyond just a marketing ploy. The large section of the store devoted to deli products is like nothing else I know of. An unbelievable variety of cheeses and sandwich meats, all of excellent quality, and @ a MUCH LESS COST than what you'd pay anywhere else. And I have always enjoyed the fact that the overhead sign @ the cheese counter, lists them by country of origin. One of their employees informed me that "ballpark figure" they offer a total of around 500 different varieties of cheeses (that being in context of an entire year). He explained that many varieties are seasonal to times of the year, and (as a for intance) gave example of the cheeses from certain countries, that are produced only during the month of new spring grass. One example, apparently among numerous others, regarding these seasonal varieties. 
  So many other things that I'll only mention a few favorites: bulk dried food items, self-serve olive oil, great selection of hot sauces, pickled, and in-oil, jarred products, and of course tomato products and pastas. 
   But again, no written description can really convey it. You simply have to go there!

Wonderful store, very busy, know what you want before you get a number. The lines are long and move fast. Great authentic products and if it's Italian they have it. Will be back

Stop here all the time great selection. This is a great place to go to get cheese, lunchmeat, fresh or dried pasta, olive oils and more. Their cheese selection is in the best of the city but they do have a minimum weight to order so it is better to get for a party and not just a few people. They do get great imported meats at their deli and it's reasonably priced for the quality of true Italian meats. I'm partial to real Italian capicolla. Also produce is always good quality and they have scoop yourself by the pound roasted nuts for eating or baking.
