In summer 2016 I had a rear brake job done and immediately following, I experienced violent shaking and smoking from the rear passenger wheel whenever I would brake. I contacted Pep Boys to have the problem corrected, but I was unable to make my appointment as the problem had become so severe my vehicle was unable to be driven safely. I went to another mechanic, who fixed the problem and I took the receipt back to Pep Boys and they reimbursed me. Beginning in April of 2017, I experienced the same problem but now on the drivers side. Given the warranty included with the brakes, I contacted Pep Boys and scheduled an appointment. I arrived on time and was told that it would be a 2.5 hour wait because the shop was understaffed. I returned to my vehicle and contacted 1-800-PEP-BOYS to voice my complaint. While on the phone, I watched as two technicians stood outside smoking a cigarette before a third employee joined. The manager of the store called me to set up another appointment, but I have no faith in Pep Boys and will end up taking my vehicle to another shop.

Horrible customer service, no use of making any appointments because they never have any techs available, they seem to always be at lunch. Hard to evaluate their service when there's nobody around to do the work.

Great place to buy anything you need for your vehicle. They were happy to help me find the right battery for my girlfriend car. Told me several options instead of just one battery. I was able to return the old battery for a partial refund of 15 dollars which was nice.

Had a wonderful experience today at the Pep Boys in Matteson, IL! Hector, Roosevelt and all the other staff members were very polite and accommodating while my car was being serviced. Please be sure to visit that location for great work and a pleasant environment. I was very satisfied!
