Great service experience. I made the mistake of taking my bike elsewhere. Not only did the other shop not fix the problem, they gave me an invoice of suggested service that was more than the bike is worth. The guys at Performance fixed what needed to be fixed and didn't try to upsell me stuff I don't need. I have always found the mechanics and salespeople at this store to be genuinely friendly and helpful. I won't stray again!

Had a great experience with Performance bikes. No nonsense and courteous staff Josh gave a  free check up of my bike and suggested small fixes based on my requirements. I appreciate that he did not try to snag money  out of me by recommending expensive tune ups and fixes like some other stores in the area. He did make some great short term and long term recommendations without trying to sell me something from the store.
Highly recommend this location. Quick , efficient and to the point.

Brought my bike with well adjusted gears for tuning up and when I picked it up both front and back derailleurs are badly readjusted. I cannot even ride the bike now because of the huge friction between the front derailleur and the chain. Unfortunately, I just wasted time and money and now I need to either do it by myself or take it to another bike shop.

Steve is Racist manager to work for. if your trying to become a mechanic, steve will find some way to sabotage your hours until he wants you to get fired. He walks a fine line like the part time lawyer he is.

I've been going to the Fairfax store for a few years now, and have had nothing but good experiences. Everyone I've dealt with has been helpful and friendly, and several times the staff has given me advice to do something on my own or a quick adjustment for free. I've bought about two bikes there, and they have never tried to up-sell me, but have helped me find a good option in my budget. They're the only bike store I can really say that about. I've bought enough junk bike gear on Amazon, so I usually turn to Performance because I know their cheap stuff isn't junk. Bottom line = I moved to DC and still go back to this Fairfax store because no other bike store has impressed me.
