Story

Pets Etc is a family- owned and operated business that has served the Naperville area community for over 20 years. We opened our second location in the Plainfield/Joliet area in October 2012. We recognize the importance that your pet holds in your life, and we want to make sure that your pet receives only the very best available.

Our business is built on the principles of quality, customer service and value. Our mission is to provide pet owners with a wide selection of healthy foods, treats and supplies in a clean and friendly environment. Our prices are very competitive and our frequent buyer program offers additional savings. We offer professional grooming services and a wide selection of tropical fish at both locations. Our Naperville location also has live small animals, birds and reptiles and offers small animal boarding.

We do not sell puppies or do business with puppy mills.

My mom and I LOVE Pets Etc! We have been taking our two morkies here since February/March and we have not been disappointed! Cathy is the stylist we have been requesting since we started coming here. On top of that, the customer service and vibes alone of Pets Etc is superb! Cathy is patient, respectful & completely understanding. One of our morkies, Rocky, has some anxiety issues as well as both of the dogs having sensitive skin. Cathy switches out the normal shampoo for oatmeal shampoo. We will continue to come here and will tell our friends/families that have puppies and dogs to come here! Good job, Cathy & thank you Pets Etc!

The freshwater fish tanks are not well kept. and I purchased a plecostomus from this store and it died within 2 days. the staff there are friendly, but that doesn't make up for the fact the fish tanks don't have proper labeling (it did not say how many gallons the fish needed, there wasn't a price labeled on the tanks). even the two people working there didn't know which fish was which and were not careful when taking the fish out. although they offered a 4-day warranty if the fish died it almost seemed like they expected the fish to die. this is just a few of the many frustrating problems I found with this store. i will post a picture of my plecostomus later. I strongly recommend that you go to a different pet store. I recommend tropicaquatics they have better service and have fish experts that can tell you what you need to know about the fish your buying. as well as the large selection of fresh and saltwater fish. for these reasons, I give Pet's Etc, 1 star.

The store has a good selection, but what keeps me returning is the staff. They are the sweetest, friendliest group of people. The groomers especially are excellent, because I have one dog that is just a scared little thing, but they take the time with her and give her the attention she needs. Love Pets, ETC :)

I usually try to stop in at Pet's Etc. at different times trying to catch someone to speak to about their different types of dog food. I've only run into very young employees with no knowledge about anything in the store. But the store has great potential and I really like the variety of dog treats.
