Lost my business for life. 
I recently bought an aquatic filter from Petco. It was a Marineland Polishing Filter that filter up to 97 G tank. I was not really happy with the filter because it made it look like you had a TON of filtration but actually you have to choose which type of filtration you want - all the parts don't fit inside at one time. I've been having problems with the water quality of my aquarium and after going to see the vet (who said I would need a better filter) I decided to return it. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt, and I didn't have a pet perks so they couldn't track the purchase. But Petco is known for their "customer service." The cashier said I could exchange the filter but they don't have a large filter selection in store and the one I want was only online. After spending over 2 HOURS of my time and talking with their corporate on the phone -WHICH WAS POINTLESS ! The cashier finally let me exchange it for other items BUT THEIR SELECTION of aquatics is so awful and I needed that money to but my new filter! AND YOU CAN'T USE A MERCHANDISE CARD ONLINE! Now i have products I don't really need and had to spend another $215 at PETSMART on my NEW FILTER. Besides maybe finding another store in the area and exchanging what I bought for something that I need. I'm NEVER shopping at Petco again. I don't care if it costs me more $.

My go to when I need a fresh bag of dog food. They have ProPlan. The store is medium clean but I'm in and out and it's close to the house.

I don't much care for any place selling living creatures, not because this establishment does anything wrong but because of the potential that is created by the situation. However, I like the partnership with animal adoption services, and I love the broad selection of critter accoutrements. My cats absolutely love (and consequently destroy) a specific catnip-filled toy shaped like a carrot, which also comes in red pepper and banana. I can only find them here with any consistency. 'MURICA. Where even our pets can destroy gifts like spoiled toddlers who've never been spanked.

Anyway. The employees at this location have always been helpful, pleasant, and knowledgeable.

Limited selection of fish, disease make it marginal as a fish store.  Helpful friendly staff

The cages for the live animals were filthy and way too small, a couple of animals were not looking well at all, not very good customer service. wanted to take all the animals
