I took my dog to Petco (In Homewood, ILL) on 2/11/17, who has been going there for almost 6 years. About a couple of years ago the groomer called and said she cut my dogs food (deep) but she seemed alright and no blood, did not ask to take her to a doctor or anything, but I let that go. on 2/11/17, I took her and about an hour or so later they call me and say they cut her dew claw off and have to take her to the hospital, the hospital calls me and says they have to cut it off and put her to sleep. I am so peeved about this, then the groomer (who cut) her had the nerve to say to me, well at least you don't have to be bothered with that now (WHAAAT)?  I will never, ever take her to any other Petco as long as she is alive. I have a little dog and she was traumatized and now I have to take her back and forth to their doctor (when my doctor was right down the street), I have to travel a distance and take time off from work to take her to her appointments, for like 5 or 6 days. So I now rate Petco a ZERO in my eyes;.

Whoever we spoke to at petco was mean we went to buy a koi that was 4 inches long the employee that worked there said it would not fit in my "fish tank" we have 15,000 gallon koi pond and she called it fish tank
And she would not allow a paying customer to purchase the fish.

I never write reviews to places however the service I received today was absolutely horrible. I have been getting my dog's nails trimmed here since my dog was a puppy, I have gone in to the luv my pet vaccinations and took part in puppy training for my dog, and I buy all my dog's food and treats here with never any problem!. On the contrary, they were wonderful with customer service and very friendly towards my dog. However I went in to get my dog's nails trimmed and was denied service because according to her it says "on record" that my dog bites. My dog has never bitten anyone nor has ever tried to. Last time we had gone there that same lady cut their nails terribly! she cut some too short and he would cry in pain and some too long. and in her defense she said it was because he was "moving too much" which she said with an attitude. Times before a very kind man was nice and cut his nails perfectly every time. We asked to speak to the manager which was no help she and said that men didn't  work in grooming anymore. We have since gone to pet smart and they had no problem cutting my dog's nails and the food we buy him is way cheaper there. I recommend petsmart over petco.
