It used to be that one could park anywhere at 7pm. Now they use the excuse that because it's all "virtual" they enforce all spots 24/7, even if one is an alumnus. You'd think they'd find some way to at least let their alumni still park there freely even during the evening or late hours of the night at general student parking, when barely anyone is around, after all the thousands of dollars one spent there.

After attending this University for a few years, due to congestion being a problem now, parking has gotten to be a mission that can take up to 1hr sometimes to find an empty spot (Which isn't even guaranteed to be anywhere close to your department). On top of that, students are constantly scavenging for spots and drive desperately while trying to find one. This tends to be from ~9:30AM to ~3:00PM.

Communists who make thousands off "citations" everyday yet they can't pave their lots properly and expect people to damage their tires by parking on rocks and mud. Their appeal system is a poor excuse of a joke. Flooded me with 9 letters to my house weeks after I had already paid off a ridiculous ticket.

They gave me a ticket WHILE I WAS IN THE CAR without my notice while the car was on. I called after receiving the ticket in the mail, to which they said I could appeal it. After I appealed it on their site it went away after 2 weeks, I thought the problem was resolved. No, 2 months later I get another letter saying I now owe $30.00. FIU is a joke when it comes to giving each student the attention they pay for. The FIU Parking department is one of the worst entities within FIU and their new quick ticket machines are unlawful if they aren't going to pay attention when issuing citations.
