Story

The Picacho/Tucson NW KOA campground is conveniently located off I-10, south of Casa Grande in Pinal County and halfway between Phoenix and Tucson. Just down the road from the beautiful and historic Picacho Peak, our KOA campground is in the middle of it all. The Central Arizona location, mild climate, and scenic attractions make us a favorite RV destination for tourists and winter visitors. Our beautifully landscaped grounds, tall trees and great facilities invite you to spend a week, a month, or the entire season. With pull-through RV sites up to 140 feet long and 50-amp service available, we are truly Big Rig Friendly! No RV? Try our camping cabin for a cozy, comfortable stay. Whether you want to relax in the sparkling heated pool, or explore our surroundings, there is something for everyone. Nearby the campground, hiking, birding, golfing, casinos, restaurants and shopping are all available. Explore the history of Arizona at Casa Grande Ruins National Monument in Coolidge, delight in the colorful display of spring wildflowers at Picacho Peak State Park, or turn up the heat and attend the Arizona State Open Chili championship held every March up the road in Casa Grande. Make sure you visit Rooster Cogburns Ostrich Ranch while you are in the area. Whatever your tastes, you will find plenty to do at the Picacho/Tucson NW KOA. Come see us soon!

Frankie and Jerry Cross own this KOA, as well as Frankie's Chuckwagon Restaurant. On the same property, these owners seem to treat their staff exceptionally well. That makes a world of difference for the patrons. These people are very accommodating, and yet they run a tight ship. That means the entire facility is in great shape and exceptionally clean. While they do have a heated, outdoor pool, that is the only real amenity for non-pet owners, and the only reason it's not getting five stars from me. For pet owners they have a very nice dog walk/park including an obstacle course.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The camp staff was exceptionally friendly and the the camp ground itself was nice. I have added this to my Google maps as a destination we would like to return to and spend a week or so just enjoying the serenity. If you have dogs, this is the place to come.

Nice facilities. Great pet areas. One very large in a pasture another one smaller with agility items. The staff was very accommodating and helpful.
