I just started a membership here a few weeks ago. The monthly rate is great and so far the facilities seem good and have everything you need. What I see lacking so far is the customer service. When first visiting the staff did not offer to give a tour of the facilities as the website mentioned would be required as new member. It was not offered either when I came on a visiter pass or the first time after signing up. Nor did the staff seem welcoming and willing to help or answer questions.

Used to be a great place to work out, now the gym employees aren’t nearly as welcoming or helpful. They all just stand and socialize at the front... in fact I never see them cleaning anymore. The yoga mats are ripping and the paper towels for cleaning equipment are often out. Seems unsanitary now. Hard for anyone timid to ever work out using the “lifting” area. Bros are always hanging out there — too intimidating to use that equipment. Still can’t beat the price, which is the only reason it gets a 3-star.

Small location. Hard to get on any machine, free weights etc. Machines hardly ever work. Would be nice if this location expanded to the space that used to Rainbows next door, and it would also help if they upgraded the equipment.

This used to be my main Planet Fitness location, but after visiting others in the city, this one now pales in comparison. Very little space, poor upkeep of the machines. The time before last, a mirror was broken, same mirror still broken a week later (fixed since). Just not impressive at all. Still, it's a Planet Fitness, and you can get a decent workout. Choose Middletown if you live between the two, much better facility.

The staff here is constantly changing so I can understand there are going to be some issues because of the turnover rate alone. That being said, this is definitely not a well kept facility The bathrooms are, ironically, cleaning that most parts of the gym itself. The floors are often grimy and many times I have come in when there was trash strewn about the floors. When grabbing paper towels to wipe down the machine that I was using noticed a disgusting about of dust caked on the inside of the paper towel dispenser. As I stated before I can be understanding of staffing issues, and the difficulty of keep a facility clean that is being regular used by a bunch of trashy disrespectful gym monkeys. But, much of the cleanliness issues seem to come from outright disregard and neglect. Many times I have come in at night and the staff barely notice me walking in and out of the building, but rather they are listing to music on their phones or scrolling through Facebook. When I originally purchased my membership at this location I made it very clear that I wanted to be able to bring a guest regularly, as it was my understanding Planet Fitness provides that option for certain members. But, although making this very clear to the man behind the counter (who is no longer employed there I might add), he went on to sell me the $10 membership which does not include the benefits of a regular guest. My boyfriend and I had been working out for months and none of the staff ever stopped us from working out, whether out of inattention or simply not caring I cannot say. Then, one night, a man who had let up work out multiple times before the fact stopped us and said that I could not have a guest with me because I did not have a "Black Card" membership. While this was incredibly inconvenient I went home to do some more research and ended up coming back the next day to upgrade my account, not mentioning the incident and I realized that the employee in question (who originally sold me the membership) was no longer working for Planet Fitness. On that same day I brought up other benefits that were listed on Planet Fitness's Website, such as a free PF T-shirt upon signing up. Apparently this is no longer offered despite being advertised on the website. The man working behind the counter also informed me that apparently that promotion was only for those who signed up for the Black Card membership despite it being advertised for both memberships on the website. I know that this is not the fault of the facility but Planet Fitness corporation would do well to update the information they are currently advertising. Hopefully, with so many new staff members, this location will be able to make cleanliness a higher priority and train the staff members on hand to be more clear and concise when explaining services provided, and to actually know and understand what it is that they are selling to people.
