Edgar Allan Poe theme to the restaurant. Apparently he's from the area. If you're not into literature I would come for the food because it is pretty good. I have a hamburger which was great. Place was packed on a Sunday early afternoon and it took us about 30 minutes before we get a table. We had to park down the street where they have additional parking for Poe's Tavern.

The burgers at Poe's are legendary! If you like seafood you must get the one with the crab cake on top. Wife's mixed drink was strong. Too many craft beers to choose from. The best part was it was a little on the cool side when we went so no one wanted to sit outside. Loud and crowded inside but quiet out. PERFECT!

This place is seriously so cool! Everything inside is Edgar Allen Poe themed including the menu. The chili cheese fries are super good with just the right amount of space. I also got a froggy burger and it was cooked perfectly. The prices are about 9-15 a person depending on what you get. It is small and very quaint. It is a tavern so there is alcohol but it is family friendly.

Another restaurant that was on our "if you're in the area, you absolutely have to go here" list.  If you want an Edgar Allen Poe-themed cheeseburger, well, I don't imagine there's a better place to go anywhere in the world than here.   With menu items named after the Poe's short stories, and an interior decor that will not allow you to forget the name of the restaurant, it was a very cool scene.  There is a ton of outdoor seating, but since it was raining, we sat indoors.  I was a big fan of the Amontillado burger, named after Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado".  

If you're in the mood for a burger and a drink, and/or you want a place that's minutes from the beach, and/or you're just a fan of ol' Edgar, then you've found your spot.

We recently ate at Poe's based on a friend's recommendation and loved it! We were a table for 9 plus a one year old. The service was awesome, the food was great and I would definitely return. The staff was accommodating to our large group and child. We had reservations so the wait wasn't long at all despite how crowded the restaurant was. We had a great view of the water and the atmosphere was fun and inviting.
