I love going here! Always room to find a spot to call your own for a bit. Lots of trails to explore. Going down to the water fronts or walking through the gardens it's a great place to get out and enjoy. Never had a problem with my car being messed with while out exploring. And walking alone or with groups always felt safe around respectful nice people.

Despite all the signs telling you not to, it seems like everyone feeds the raccoons here to the point that they come loping up to your car in packs, totally unafraid, hoping for food. It was hilarious and basically felt like one of those drive-through wildlife safari parks. More seriously, the park has beautiful lookouts and nice trails. Pretty place.

Very Nice Park! Great trails, parking and easy to get too. We really liked the wild life. PD has a road that loops the park and many spots allow you to stop, and enjoy the view or take a short hike. watch the speed and watch for wildlife! There is an off leash dog park, a historical 1700's replicated Outpost/Fort for the family and individuals to explore! Very cool to explore or just to take a short drive thru.

What a great outing yesterday! Great exercise with a scenic walk on the beach, checking out the beautiful flowers in the rose garden. Plenty of wildlife to see. We came across turtles, squirrels, at least 7 deer and on 5 mile drive must have been 20 raccoons! The fort was closing as we got there but the visit over all was spectacular! Will have to go back some other time to see the zoo & aquarium.

Tacoma treasure! Beautiful views wonderful walks through the park and trails Galore. Many forms of wildlife are also spotted here. From the trails at the point you can sometimes catch a glimpse of a Humpback Whale or Orca if you're lucky! If you're taking 5 Mile Drive be sure to see the cute little raccoons begging at the edge of the road, but remember, Don't Feed the Animals! Taste of Tacoma is featured at the park yearly. The Botanical Garden in Spring and early summer is a must see. Last but certainly not least is the Point Defiance Zoo where many opportunities abound for wildlife education and conservation.
