Great place for camping and fishing. Some campsites directly face the river. You can almost cast a line from your tent into the water. The real hidden jem of this campground is the cabins for rent. $200 for a modern cabin that can sleep six, with cable TV flat screen, refrigerator, and stove. Very clean and cozy. I really liked Sean! She went out of her way to show me everything and gave me a tour of the cabins. She showed me a cabin that overlooked the river. I was amazed at how beautiful this resort is. Sean sold me on the cabins. I'm going to book a long weekend here soon.

Be aware that the sites are first come first serve. This caused a lot of confusion. Roads are very very narrow and not well marked. Also be aware that many of the services are "upgrades". This is not made apparent when booking. Thought we had booked a full hook up site. Found out that 50 amp and sewer was an extra up charge. You then get to drive around on the very very narrow roads to see if those are available. Not the most fun in an Rv. The sad part is that these charges would not have bothered me if apart up front. Instead I felt very taken advantage of the way they did it.

Great spot by the American River. Especially if you love Whitewater Expeditions!

Great camping grounds with a convenience store at the entrance of the park. Will definitely be visiting sometime again soon
