If you are in a mood for a Chicago style hot dog, Italian beef, cheesy fries, or a an authentic burger look no further. This place is favorite with the locals and a Mecca for Chicago expats living in Southern California. The decor is 100 percent on point with retro posters and celebrities photos, checkered table cloths. The food is excellent and now they have vegetarian hot dogs.
The Moreno Valley Portillo's is always a go to for hotdogs. The food is great, the fries are fresh and crispy and that's only a small portioned their extensive menu. This is a great place to bring out-of-towners when you need a quick restaurant. It can get a bit loud but the atmosphere is entertaining enough that noise doesn't really matter. Normally we get a slice of chocolate cake here too. Our family likes it enough, we sometimes go grab a whole one to take home for special occasions. Last I checked, there were 46 locations. All around Chicago, and Minnesota and the only other two? Here and Buena Park.
Always love Portillo's. One of the things I appreciate is that whether I'm in Chicago or if I'm passing through the Moreno Valley on my way to San Diego, the food is consistently the same, which is a good thing. My daughter was with me and reminded me that there was a Portillo's here and then she demanded that we eat there. It wasn't a hard sell for me but my wife had to be strong-armed a little. My daughter and her husband are expecting their first child so she sold it as a pregnancy craving so my wife was compelled to agree. In the end, she really enjoyed her meal, which is always good since she's the pickiest eater in the family. We had hot dogs, Italian Beef & combos, salad and a burger for my wife. it was all fantastic. The ambiance is always cool and the service was great. We then sent pictures of the food to one of my other daughters who wasn't with us and she was super annoyed that she had not come along on the trip because Portillo's is her favorite. Please open a location in Las Vegas for us. None of my kids live here but they fly in so much that you'd probably see them at least once every month or two. You'd definitely see me more than that
A place my hunni boo has been waiting to try & so we did , I must admit place is very unique and has a very cool vibe , I love Lucy theme songs type of vibe ! I order the hot dog with fries and drink my hunni boo got the bacon cheeseburger that was oso goooood , EVERYTHING about it was good , had such a fresh taste to it all , my hot dog was good but I felt could’ve been presented a little better , fries were every bit of amazing !! This place is our new little go to …..coming back for that burger btw great customer service ! Even tho we got a couple of eye stares from staff & customers ! We still had an amazing experience
The Big Beef Sandwich was cooked well. The problem was it was dry. As you can see we ordered the extra sweet peppers, which consisted of one 2" pepper on each half. There was no other ingredients. The meat was cooked thoroughly. When there is a picture in the lobby, of the sandwiches with onions and other bell peppers and such do not assume falsely, like I did, that it comes with ANY of that. You have to specifically tell them all the ingredients you would like on it. "The dry" would have been great if it came with Au Jus, but it didn't, so we used ketchup. $32 for two big beef combos.
Every time after eating here it always seems overpriced for what it is. Some of the food is unique and great but a lot of it is just average or below. It's great to eat here and enjoy a beer with your food in the fun atmosphere but you should always check your order. I have never eaten here once that they didn't get something wrong in my order. Usually they are good about correcting it but some times they are flat out rude depending upon who helps you.
A fun place to visit if you enjoy speciality hotdogs! The menu also has hamburgers, salads, desserts, and beer. They've added some combo specials. Portillo's has a drive thru but we enjoy eating inside. It is spacious and has plenty of seating. Recommend for kids.
I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich plain with just the sauce. After I received my receipt, I saw I was charged for .99 for sauce. It comes with the sauce. Then I noticed my beef and sausage sandwich had a additional charge of 1.50 for sweet and hot peppers. For one, I saw the picture and was unaware it was a extra charge and second for having to pay for that I received very little. And after looking at the menu it shows only a .75 cent charge and no other price. We will never go to this nickel and dime place again. Manager was very rude and unfriendly to make matters even worst. He rather prepare food then make things right.
One my favorite places to eat hot dogs was recommended by a coworker and been coming ever since. They have some amazing sandwiches to try along with desserts I highly recommend this place.
There's a lot of stuff to look at in the restaurant. You have to walk through it to the back left corner to order. Ordered some dogs and shakes. Then found a seat. Food was ready pretty quick and it was flavorful. The cake shakes actually have big chunks of cake in them. Yum.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
