Story

From the moment you enter Premier Vet Care, you will know your pet is going to receive the best care possible. Our vets and our team are committed to bringing you and your pets better health by practicing medicine that makes sense. We understand the deep bond between a pet and its family - because we, too, love our pets. Our policy and goal are to treat our clients as we would treat our families, and to treat our clients’ pets as though they were our own.

Premier Vet Care is dedicated to providing compassionate and outstanding medicine for dogs, cats, large animals, birds, and exotics. We are a full service animal hospital serving Rowlett and surrounding areas, providing general care and emergency services as well. Whether your pet needs vaccinations, boarding, grooming, bathing, surgery, dentistry, or day-to-day preventative medicine, we can help! In addition to basic veterinary care, Premier Vet Care offers a variety of services that ensure your pet receives the best diagnosis and treatment, including ultrasonography, digital radiography, specialized surgeries, pain management, preventative in-house lab work, and internal medicine consults.

No need to put off shots or a much needed checkup when you can call us and get your pet in the same day! At Premier Vet Care, we understand that dogs and cats might not get along. For your convenience and your pet’s peace of mind, we have separate exam rooms for dogs and cats so everybody is happy. We are also aware of how demanding jobs and crazy schedules can be, and that is why we provide early drop- offs and late pick-ups.

I recently took my newly adopted kitten to Premier. The staff there was great and made everything really easy. We saw Dr. Josh who I thought was fantastic. I had read about several people that use him and I agree with them whole heartedly that he is fantastic. I was able to understand what he was saying and he was very patient with my questions. thank to you all for making this an easy experience.

One word- WOW. I was searching for a new vet who could support my sweet puppers special needs and I’m very glad I ended up here. I have gone to four other vets for a ‘basic exam’ (not counting the times I had gone to my previous vet for regular visits/ infections), trying to find the perfect office for us and none of them felt quite right until today. The previous ‘tryouts’ would either be too rough with Mr Darcy (he is almost completely blind and has trust issues so he will cower away if you come at him too quickly) or they seemed more keen on ‘bandaid’ fixes rather than treatment options. Dr Anna did the exact opposite- she saw Mr Darcy was skeptical of her and we actually did the visit while sitting on the floor and let him walk around her and get comfortable. I had never seen a vet care enough about a pet that they were willing to go to those sort of lengths to make sure they were comfortable! She also spent a great deal of time going over each of his special needs with us, writing out the different options/ plans on a dry erase board so it was easy for us to follow. She answered all our questions and then some without making us feel rushed or that our questions were invalid. 

I also cannot say enough good things about the front office staff. When speaking on the phone before setting the appointment, the lady I spoke with was extremely professional and helpful, I had a good feeling I made the right choice at that point. Our appointment was at 3:30 and we were in the room by 3:32- not only do they respectfully care for my dog, but they respect their clients schedules- I was honestly shocked, I have sat in a waiting room for over an hour before at another vets office (even with an appointment). When we were leaving, Mr Darcy was quite thirsty and had started panting while in the lobby, one of the front desk ladies actually brought a bowl of water out so he could have a drink before his car ride home.

I came in worried and stressed about my pets future and health and left with a clear-cut plan on how we were going to tackle these obstacles. I couldn’t be more impressed and look forward to our follow-up visit in two weeks!

I absolutely love Dr. Josh’s dedication and caring for his patients. The techs and front desk staff are incredible. So caring, gentle and professional. It’s not the least expensive clinic but it is the best and I won’t take my babies anywhere else.

Dr. Cope is an amazing vet! He took time to go over every detail of my dog's exam and answered every question I had. He actually cares about my pet - not just making money! So refreshing! The staff is friendly and professional and always remember my pet's name! And the cost can't be beat - Premier has to be the most affordable vet around!

Not having taken an animal there yet, just standing in the front waiting area and talking to all incoming owners, picking up from the early day drop off, gave me extreme comfort in choosing this clinic.  Everyone, I mean everyone, had extremely positive experiences that were shared.  It was so great to see a clinic that had that positive of feeling!  The front desk could not be more informative!  We were talking to Diane, she asked if we could wait a bit, next I knew Dr. Kirsten came walking out with all smiles.  She listened to our concerns, wishes of taking care of our two Rottweilers, that made us convinced this is the new clinic that will take care of our furry family.  My husband and I both returned to our car and said “I believe this is the place”.  Looking forward to being part of their family.
