I have been going to VHC Alexandria for about a year and a half and have gone through 3 primary care providers in that brief period of time. This is not due to my personal opinion but instead providers keep choosing to leave the practice. When you call for something as simple as a prescription refill it takes at least 48 hours for them to call you back. Then you are informed it takes the provider up to 72 hours to complete the refill request to your pharmacy. The last time before deciding to leave VHC as a patient Dr. Harold's (Never even met them so not sure if thats how you spell the name) nurse (Beth), who is extremely helpful and nice called me 3x to attempt to help me out only to finally say "Dr. Harold can not accommodate you.." This was in response to my request that they provide a short fill to help me get to a time that I could arrange an appointment. I also requested that the doctor call me them-self should they feel it was too difficult to assist me. It should be noted that my chart said that the only thing I needed was a blood pressure check (I do not have high BP) Beth called back and apologized. Its nice that she cared enough o do that when clearly the Doctor doesn't find it in any way professional to reach out to a patient. I just find it very sad that each time, from no fault of my own, this practice found it necessary to require me to come back in for an appointment due to their inability to retain staff, are extremely unresponsive to any reasonable request to help a patient, and even when someone is down to the final fill on a script and finds that yet again their practitioner has left the practice, refuses to help - For obviously no other reason than not being able to bill insurance for a BP check. I would strongly advise you go somewhere else and find a more caring practitioner. It is clear this office can not keep decent primary care providers and the ones they do have don't care enough about patients but do care about billing their time. Clearly this is why primary care physicians like this "Dr Harold", are a dying profession that is being taken up by equally as educated and talented PA's and RN's. I am a 35 year old, healthy individual. The medicine I was requesting was a maintenance med I have been on for 2 years with absolutely no issues at all.

Called and asked for an appointment regarding my seasonal allergies and a physical, and the woman who answered the phone said they are booked until August. Then I asked for recommendations for other places I could go and she wouldn't tell me any. She somehow didn't know of any other GPs in the area. I highly doubt that. Extremely rude.

Just about the best Doctor that I've ever been to. His bedside manner is exactly what it needs to be to be a Doctor to a man like me..you know....Hank Hill from King of the Hill...I'll talk about certain things...but not without the appropriate amount of shame and embarassment....well...with Dr. Charambopulus at VHC Physician Group, it's all painless and I stay healthy. An awesome Dr. indeed.
