My wife came in for a seizure on Thursday. She was admitted to the 7th floor for observation. The doctors were great full of information. The nurses on the hand were rude, they came in her room twice over an 10 hour period that I was there. My wife was asking for pain medication and all the nurse said was I will be back with something but never return it took 3 times calling for the nurse for her to get pain medication. The doctor to her that she will be discharged today around 1pm it is now 5pm and haven’t seen the nurse since 11am. I will never comeback to this Hospital for nothing. I would take my chances and drive my wife to another hospital before I would ever comeback here again.

Overall, it seems that there is a culture among the doctors and ER staff that involves treating patients like they're not really worth healthcare providers' time in terms of showing any sort of kindness or good bedside manner. My story is that I'd been having trouble breathing from asthma for awhile but the doctor basically dismissed what I told her about my symptoms. She kept asking me if I drank alcohol or took drugs, and I kept having to repeat myself that I don't do drugs or really drink except once every few months or so during social events. Then she asked if I ever had anxiety issues and I said "yes," and that I was feeling anxious and disoriented mainly because it was becoming increasingly difficult for me to breathe and not feel like I was on the verge of fainting.

Then there was my personal nurse....All I can say is that the African American nurse who cared for me refused to be cordial or even slightly, pleasantly professional. She even scowled at and scolded me, the sick patient, for not being able to remember to bring my bathroom sample back to my room, despite the fact that the IV holder wouldn't roll around properly or move without me trying to lift it with both hands. Finally after receiving two respiratory treatments that helped me to breathe and feel less dizzy and disoriented, I received my release papers...And guess what the doctor wrote? Patient's symptoms include: dizziness and 'giddiness' (with suspected asthma)." OK, so what in the world does "giddiness" even mean in terms of an official medical diagnosis, and why would asthma be "suspected" when that was precisely what I was treated for during my ER visit via respiratory treatments (I never was treated for symptoms of dizziness or "giddiness" yet it was written in the official statement as if these were the main issues)??? More importantly, why is it so freaking difficult to understand that a patient may seem out of it and anxious when they tell you they feel like they're literally on the verge of passing out from an inability to breathe???

Overall I just chalk it up to the fact that I most likely was racially profiled as someone on drugs by this doctor, in spite of the fact that I'd said upfront that I felt completely disoriented and faint because of my inability to breathe. I also suspect that's why she kept asking me whether I used drugs or not when I came there reporting symptoms of shortness of breath, dizziness, and feelings of disorientation....I mean, like how many drug addicts regularly go to the ER asking for an asthma medication? Whatever, these people can continue to be rude to patients, racially profile patients, or even potentially suspect that every black woman who comes in there to get help is hooked on drugs for all I care...All I know is that I won't be one of those women EVER, EVER AGAIN!

I was born Prince George's Hospital Center  back then in 1991 it is a good one in my county I called to see if they had my sonogram of when I was in my mother womb in that year in 91' but they destroyed at least I got everything so it's okay.

My grandmother died in this hospital and I honestly believe that if she was in another hospital she would still be alive. Prior to her passing, her nurse was so rude to us. She would come in and out of the room without acknowledging our presence. On one occasion I caught her forcibly turning my grandmother's head around to adjust her breathing mask. When I said something to her about it she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. It took every bit of me not to go off on her but I didn't cause a scene in fear of how my grandmother would be treated in my absence. Each time I visited I would get inconsistent updates about her progress and when I would ask to speak with her DR they would say he's coming but he would never come to the room. When we received her belongings we noticed that some of the jewlery she was wearing on the day she was admitted was missing but we were told that everything she wore was given to us. I could go on and on with the complaints but I've decided to keep it brief. I regret every day leaving her in the care of these non compassionate, ghetto, trashy liars.
