VW & Audi-

Mike and Kevin are awesome guys. They won't try and oversell you on something you don't need and their prices are lower than any of the other shops around. It is only the two of them in the shop, so it might take a day or two to get to my car, but it is well worth the wait.

Pro-Tech came highly recommended from my regular mechanic who does not do work on VW's.  I needed a heater core replaced and they were able to get me in quickly and got the work done on time.  They were in contact several times during the repairs and did find that additional work was needed but made sure I was aware of it and walked me through the costs and let me know ahead of dropping a higher invoice on me.  I will definitely bring my old VW back to them for the next repair that is beyond my skillset.

I've had a newer model VW beetle, a 1999 Toyota Tacoma, and a 2007 Nissan Versa serviced here for the past 4 years.  The guys have done great work, haven't pushed me for anything I didn't need, and do a good job listening and responding to my questions.  I'm looking for my next car, and I am limiting my options to the vehicles they will work on (imports).

I suppose the price is a little bit more than bare minimum, but that's because they don't do minimum work.  This is top quality at competetive prices.  Every now and then, when needed, they have told me that they can't do the work any cheaper than the dealership (replacing the key cover on the Versa), when the dealership would have the piece and the right paint in stock already.  That's pretty good honesty.  

The fact that the local dealership misdiagnosed the issue and wanted to charge and arm and a leg for an issue that an out of town dealership got right for the cheaper price is another story entirely.

After extremely bad experiences at the VW dealer in Urbana, I brought my car here to be serviced.  They got me in right away, fixed only the problems I wanted fixed, and were extremely friendly.  They even took the time to explain exactly which parts they were buying and what they did.  I would highly recommend them to anyone with a VW.
