WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Waisted 5 hours waiting around for doctors to tell me that didn't know what to do. Spend 3 1/2 hours waiting in the emergency room, after seeing multiple people who came in after us leave. When we finally got to the room the nurse was very helpful, she said a doctor would be in shortly yet no one ever came. I asked for some water and the nurses ignored my request multiple times. After asking multiple assistants where our doctor was, or can we get discharge papers they didn't even know we were in the room. Finally we just left. They probably didn't even notice we were gone. Worst experience ever. I hope something is done about this disguising hospital.

All staff were fantastic. RNs very knowledgeable. Docs informative. Only concern was discussion with pain control nurse Practitioner. She told me that I was having too much pain for the surgery I had. She said I was asking for to much pain medicine. I informed her that I was well aware of the type of surgery I had and that I only asked for pain medicine when I needed it. I felt as though she came in with an attitude regarding my level of pain and exactly how it should be treated. I didn’t feel as though she listened to me.

This hospital is NOT the same ER that I went to about 6 years ago.  The hospital has changed so much that I will NEVER go back again.  The ER facility is set up like a doctor’s waiting room.  No nurses or doctors are visible ... only a receptionist to give you a bunch of forms to fill out, tells you to have a seat,  and then wait for her to call your name (1 hour later).  Further more, the “valets” who help you get out of your car if you can’t walk, leave their shift at 8:00pm so there is no one to help you out of your car.  However, there are 3 really nice police officers at the door who will inform you that you CAN’T park there and will direct you to the parking lot that is the equivalent of a block away.   No disrespect but I can only compare this new Providence ER to the old Receiving Hospital.  Trust the reviews and go somewhere else.

I was so unhappy with my after care from my knee replacement. Surgery went well but my aftercare was very disappointing all they focused on was getting me out of there. They couldn't control my pain but that didn't seem to matter. No one wants to be in the hospital but I was not medically ready to go and that didn't seem to matter to them! I will not ever have surgery there or go there for anything!! I was also told byva professional source that my nurses said when I was discharged "she's finally leaving" - not professional at all! Further more, a friend of mine had the same surgery and she was there 5 days and none of the staff pushed her to leave.

I am 57 and Right now I been sitting in ER waiting room for 3 hours with chest pain, dizziness and sharp pains shooting through my right eye into my head.   I have had several bad experiences in this ER in the past.  The triage nurse and ER nurses look at you with expressions on their face like yeah whatever.  On two separate occasions I was told they didn't see anything and didn't know what else to do when all they did was an xray and I was telling them something serious was wrong.  I had to keep coming back til I got a Dr that did a CAT scan and realized ( on both occasions) my spinal cord was jeopardized and I needed a surgeon.  The doctors don't listen. I have to tell them I need medical attention not pain management so do not offer me pain meds as my medical care when I'm telling you something is seriously wrong.  They get mad at me because I do not wish to discuss my private medical condition or information sitting on a cot in the hallway.  My chest hurts and this pain in my eye is relentless. I won't ever return to this hospital for their sad treatment.  I will be filing a complaint within and outside of this facility.
