Story

RamTech's key mission is to serve VCU's students, faculty and staff by providing them technology products and services under the same roof. RamTech sells laptops, desktops, tablets and other technology products to students, faculty and staff with a valid VCU ID. All Apple and Dell technology products are available at educational prices. A large selection of accessories, such as adapters and cases, are also available.

In addition to computers and accessories, the store offers a variety of home and lifestyle technologies, such as Fitbit and Nike+ FuelBand fitness tracking devices, as well as smart home technology like the Belkin Wemo and products by Nest. We also offer training sessions on various tech-related topics, such as setting up a new computer.

fixIT, VCU's on-campus computer repair service, has a counter in RamTech, providing tech support and service to VCU students, faculty and staff. In addition to providing support for systems under manufacturers’ warranties, fixIT also provides complete support for all computers purchased with VCU’s exclusive RamSupport protection plans. These plans cover everything from manufacturer issues to accidental damage for up to four years. The fixIT team even offers complimentary loaner laptops for extended repairs.

RamTech allows VCU faculty and full-time staff to purchase computers and other items via payroll deduction, allowing the cost of the computer to be spread across up to 12 months with no fees or interest.
