Might be the ONLY charming place in DC. The prices are reasonable. The food does the job well. The help are incredibly nice and helpful. The music is good. Some of the help here will actually give you an alcohol education. It is not an alcohol aficionado place but the people working here know their alcohol. If you are sick and tired of the trust fund, entitled snobbery of DC (and IT IS THICK in this town) this might be the only place to get away from it all. Even coming here by yourself can lead to a fun interesting night. I nearly hated EVERYTHING about DC till I met this bar. It saves this city. THIS is where they are hiding the working class nice people in this town.

Red Derby.. one of the most dive bars I've stepped into and I mean that in the most positive way. The food is pretty good, portions are worth the price point and the drink variety was worth staying for more than just one. The real gem is the environment though. Dark, a little grimy, not too packed but not empty, second floor is an open roof type setting where you can smoke and drink, the aesthetic screams 90's era alt-clique hangout spot.

$3 mimosas? Yes please. It used to be that they did cash only, but it looks like they have a card reader now! Highly recommend. Rooftop bar all year long.

The last time i was here it was a cash only bar. So happy i didn't have to use cash. I like the roof top and it's ambiance.
