Great food and beer. Service is a little slow but not terrible. Their chicken sandwich is exceptional. Their burger is just average. Overall it's a good neighborhood spot but nothing that will blow your mind. Worth a visit for sure.

The food is solid American fare and it can be a great spot to hit midday for lunch. Brunch is good, but incredibly busy most weekends. The staff is almost always very friendly.

As one of the local neighborhood haunts,  I make it to the Coupe fairly often. Its not unusual for the kitchen to take a bit of time, but when they are slow, they are at their worst.

Tonight there was a mix up in the kitchen, which led me to have to get my food to go, after my wife and toddlers food made it to the table fairly quickly. The bill was adjusted accordingly, which is great, but really you go to a restaurant to have a meal, not a comp-ed check. I would love to say that this is the first time I've had to wait 45 minutes plus for a sandwich and fries, but it has definitely happened a few times over the years. 

In the end it's the convenience of the location and the fact that they more than tolerate my two-and-a-half-year-old that keeps me coming back to the Coupe.

Cozy place for coffee on the cafe, and the coffee is very well done. Not the best in the city, but it's in the upper tier and the atmosphere is just lovely (think tryst but brighter). My only real complaint is a lack of simple breakfast options other than a bagel with cream cheese; a small egg and cheese sandwich would be a lovely addition (perhaps I missed it.) I haven't had any of the other fare and I haven't gone at night yet, I'll append this review at a later date with those thoughts.

Quintessential restaurant for the a Columbia Heights area. There were tons of communal plush chairs and ability to bring your laptop and work there. Very colorful and nicely decorated. I was there for brunch. The food was delicious, and had many good meat and veggie options. Nice big cups of coffee, and a fun variety of cocktails. Great place.

Is Gourmet Comfort Food an Oxymoron?
Not at The Coupe!  Everything is fresh and top quality and well prepared.  The service is excellent and the coffee is some of the best available in the city.  Highly recommend.
