I was really disappointed in my experience at River City Gymnastics. I enrolled my daughter for the summer and she did not gain any skills and it was a waste of money. The coaches would sit and "stretch" for about 15 to 20 minutes out of the hour class. That would be fine if the kids were actually stretching but it was really just having the children sit while the coaches talked. There were also many times throughout the class that the children were sitting down while waiting for the coach to set up something or while transitioning to another location of the gym. If the time is set for an hour, I would expect my child to be off her feet for more than 30 minutes. The two coaches would not show the children how to do anything, and instead just told them what to do and stood by while they attempted what they were told. This was a class of 4 and 5 year old children, so telling them and not showing them was not an effective way to teach any skill. This includes how to do a somersault. There was a child who rolled without knowing to bend her head down and she was grabbing her neck the rest of the class time because it hurt. I did speak to someone in charge and asked about changing classes or teachers in order for my child to get the most out of gymnastics since she was not being shown or taught any skills and because the coaches were more concerned with socializing than teaching the class. I was told they would change out one coach and it would get better. It did not. They changed one coach with another that still did not attempt to teach the students any gymnastic skills and instead would socialize with other coaches and check often to see if the parents were watching. It was a disappointing and frustrating experience all the way around and I would not recommend this location.

We had our 4 year old's birthday party here and were impressed with the facility and the "party coaches" provided to lead the kids through the gym. However, after paying several hundred dollars to have a party we were asked to tip the coaches. I didn't mind paying the coaches, but wish they would have been upfront when we were planning the party that the coaches are provided but expect an additional tip. Fast forward to summer break.. we signed up for a Tiny Tumblers class. As one review has already stated, the teachers were young and not trained in teaching small children. My daughter and her friend have never taken gymnastics and were left to their own devices majority of the time to figure out how to use the equipment. The teachers were disengaged and seemed annoyed when they needed to help someone. It was more of an hour of babysitting instead of gymnastics. My friend asked someone at the front desk if they could tell the teachers to SHOW our kids how to safely preform flips and utilize the equipment since they have never been in a gymnastics class before. It got somewhat better after that, but the teachers remained disengaged and bitter. We didn't come the last two weeks, and we will not be returning to try fall classes. We are looking forward to finding a gym with engaged teachers.

Always professional this gymnastics training is comprehensive. My daughter started out with their Tiny Tumblers classes and has since gotten hooked. They have a glassed in waiting room where you can watch most classes from, and they offer a wide array of classes. My son even jumped in by going to the toddler classes, he just couldn't let big sis have all the fun!

The staff is pretty nice and the facility is great, but our impression was that they cared more about their bottom line than the Parents or Kids. We understood we were doing week-to-week while their summer camp was not full. My child got pink-eye on Sunday night (prob. from the camp!!) and was unable to make it at all for upcoming week. They told me "I was responsible for that week of tuition". The camp was not even full and I was not on a waiting list. Their policies are very vague and even so, they use the rebuttal "sorry that you misunderstood their policies". We are from out of town and perhaps they thought they could take advantage but either way, our experience left me and my 6 year old both upset. Just be sure you ask lots of questions about their policies including the one about them not being responsible for your child if they are in an accident in the gym -- regardless if it is an instructor's fault. Last note for Parents -- stay on top of the cleanliness in bathroom that is in the BACK of the gym. My daughter told me it was always dirty and "pee was everywhere".
