Was charged over $1400 to add four hangers to an existing dryer vent run, move a gas line one pocket over in the basement, add a 10' water line run to a new refrigerator, and to reconfigure grey water for new kitchen sink and install new faucet. Work was done properly, but you are going to pay through the nose... 10/31/2017 So, follow up to the previous review... They ran PVC pipes into our garage via a crawl space above the kitchen. You would have thought that they would have sealed around those newly installed pipes. No such luck. After I get the mice out of the house, I'll have to go up and seal around those pipes myself. Just fair warning for anybody that has them do work....

I originally called to have Rochester Plumbing and Heating (RPH) come out to fix a clogged drain. This was when my wife was in the hospital and my sister-in-law (SIL) was in town helping to watch our kids. They came while I was at work and my SIL was at the house, as was planned. Their representative came in and went to work on the drain, my SIL stayed downstairs and he worked upstairs. My kids curiously went up to see what the man was working on and my SIL heard them interacting. Kids left and the man spent a long time continuing to fix the drain. SIL thought it sounded like he was doing something more than just fixing a clogged drain and tried to call my wife to ask what all RPH was supposed to be doing. My wife confirmed it was just to fix a clogged drain. RPH spent about 2 hours at house, and at the end of his work, the rep came downstairs and told my SIL that he'd found a pipe that was nearly broken and had repaired it along with the clog. I'm glad he did, but he never once communicated with my SIL, my wife, or me what he was doing and never quoted us a price for what he was about to do. I was mildly upset by this but grateful our line had been fixed. I called the service manager at that time to let him know that, in the future, their reps should probably have permission from the responsible adult present to perform the work, and a quote for services would be nice to gauge what we as homeowners wanted done. The service manager apologized, said he would talk with his rep and then get back to me. I never heard from him again, and I thought that was the end of it. ~2-3 months later, the same drain clogged again and I called RPH to talk to them about fixing an issue that should have been fixed on the initial service call. They said someone could come out right away, and I asked them if they were going to charge me to fix something that should have been fixed the first time. The lady in the front office said she didn't think so and set up an appointment. The same rep came by, walked in and said "I know exactly what's wrong, you have to clean out this top area with the new drain I installed last time." My first thought was "Why didn't you tell us that? Here's yet another thing that would have been nice to know from you your last visit." The guy literally spent 2 minutes with a piece of broken hanger he bent into shape right in front of me and showed me how to pull the hair out of the top half of the drain. A week or so later we get a full service bill for something that should have been fixed/explained the first time around. I was pretty upset that they charged me, especially after I'd received assurances we wouldn't be. I tried calling the service manager right away. It was 4pm on a work day and the office closes at 4:30. The receptionist says he's in his office, she'll connect me through and puts me on hold. About 6 or 7 minutes later she gets back on the phone and says he just left for the day. It seems rather convenient that the service manager left at the moment of my complaint after a 6-7 minute delay 20 minutes before his day ends. So I leave a message on his machine explaining the situation and ask him to call me back. About a week later, after not hearing from him, I call back and ask for the service manager. I'm connected through and the phone rings about 10-20 times before the receptionist picks back up and says he must not be able to answer his phone right now. I leave another message explaining the situation and ask to get a call back, but I never do. I thought that in good faith he must have finally removed the charge because we never received any further bill notices and I never heard from him. Yesterday I received a notice from the company indicating we have an overdue bill. Communication and service is simply not a priority for RPH. I would never recommend their company and certainly won't be asking for their services again.

HAD A PLUGGED KITCHEN DRAIN LINE AND EMAILED ON SUNDAY FOR AN APPOINTMENT MONDAY MORNING. KEITH WAS OUT HERE PROMPTLY MONDAY MORNING AND UNPLUGGED THE LINE QUICKLY. i NOTICED ABOUT 3 HOURS AFTER HE LEFT THAT THERE WAS A DRIP WHERE THE DRAIN LINE ENTERED THE STACK AND CALLED YOUR OFFICE. THE RECEPTIONIST SAID SHE WOULD GET KEITH TO COME BACK OUT. HE WAS HERE IN A HALF HOUR AND REPLACED A DAMAGED FITTING AT THE STACK THAT WAS CAUSING THE LEAK. OBVIOUSLY THIS FITTING WAS GOING TO FAIL SOON ANYWAY BUT HE DID THE REPAIR AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE AND WAS ON HIS WAY QUICKLY. WE REALLY APPRECIATE THE PROMPT, COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL WORK HE DID. THANKS
