This library has a decent summer reading program where children and teens can earn several free books and a few freebies around town. I will say that is the best event we have experienced. It seems as though they are extremely geared toward very young patrons (toddler to kindergarten) for most events and activities. There just doesn't seem to be much for the older children and teens to do. Even the selection of books and media is mostly for younger children. The library is extremely outdated and could really use a facelift. It is always dirty and dusty as well. We have been driving out of town to use another library most the time. Really wish Round Rock would help this place out a bit and renovate.

I love coming here weekly to storytime for my toddler.  They have plenty of weekly activities.  He loves the kitchen make believe area, activity bins, lego table and chalkboard. A must if you are a parent.

The staff is very nice.  The children's area is disappointing. We moved from New Braunfels three months ago, and the books there are so much easier to find.  I always left the library with stacks of books.   Here, I've gone three times, and I checked out 1 book.  There isn't a partitioned area for the kids, so it's harder to keep an eye on your kid and find books at the same time. It would be nice to have one way in and out.   There are more adults than children on the computers. The more popular titles are always checked, even if there 8 copies of the book.  Parking is limited.  We haven't made it to any programs.  I do like the play area.  There's a kitchen, a few costumes, and toys.  The decor is dated.

Edit:. Storytime is awesome!  We do look forward to Wednesdays.  Stem is encouraged, and we have had an opportunity to check out Dash and Dot.

It can be a hassle to look for parking but it's always worth it when you do. The library has an extensive amount of publications and research for anyone who needs to study for a class.

Round Rock Library is probably the best library I've found since I moved to the Austin metro area last fall. I won't give it 5 out of 5 stars because parking is sooooo limited. Otherwise, everything is great about this library. Definitely check it out. You will like it.
