The nation’s FIRST presidential library! Also includes our 19th president’s mansion, museum, wooded estate, burial site and trails. All in one location!
We have President Rutherford B. Hayes' 31-room mansion, the presidential library with his diaries and papers, a museum and the president's tomb. This is all located at Spiegel Grove, the president's 25-acre estate in Fremont Ohio. The estate includes a mile of paved walking trails.
New museum exhibit galleries were installed in 2016. We also have rotating exhibits throughout the year. These include the Hayes Train Special, our annual holiday model train exhibit.
The home was restored in 2012 to how it appeared when President Hayes, First Lady Lucy Webb Hayes and their family lived there.
