Great great great quality of food. The owner was as goofy as me, and super fun to talk with. If you have a part of 3 or more, make sure you get some varieties in your dishes to experience everything. Definitely worth the visit.Food: 5/5
Easily the best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve experienced in the US. As a Vietnamese native, I can confidently say the flavors here surpass even those I’ve tasted back home. The dishes are not only authentic but also elevated, with the meat being an absolute standout—tender, succulent, and practically melting in your mouth. The banana butter cake is an absolute must-try; it’s a delightful end to a satisfying meal. Portions are generous and incredibly filling, ensuring you leave more than satisfied. The ambiance is cozy and intimate, with just a few seats, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in charm and cleanliness. The decor is both beautiful and cleverly thought out, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The owner’s hospitality is unmatched—attentive, welcoming, and truly caring, making you feel right at home. This is the perfect spot for a relaxed dinner with friends, where you can enjoy meaningful conversations without the distraction of loud music. It’s a hidden gem that I can’t recommend highly enough.
One of the best Vietnamese place I have ever been to. The food is simply out of this world, coupled with outstanding service. Dan, the owner of the place was really welcoming and we had a great time. Don't forget to try the coffee and durian ice cream for a true Vietnamese experience.Food: 5/5
Easily one of the best Family run restaurants I have been to in Chicago. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is pretty chill! The owner manages the place and is often greeting the guests himself as his Vietnamese wifr runs the kitchen with her team. The dishes are authentic Vietnamese and taste amazing! I’m definitely going back for more…. Kid-friendliness: The place is not pretentious at all and welcomes families. The owner loves kids and is a real gentleman!
Hip Vietnamese restaurant with quick service A big fan of beef broth this one was much different than I have had before. If you’re looking for classic this isn’t the spot but if you’re looking for a great menu with interesting flavors give this a try. I also tried the tofu boa bun and it was very tasty. Great service
We made a reservation on a Friday night. The owner I guess his wife is the chef was nice and energetic. He recommended the most expensive dish on their special menu which is the fried duck$52, claiming it’s the best and we must try it. We order three other specialty entrees including a rice noodles salad. Somehow the rice noddles salad came later with the duck. The duck is dry and the sauce is thick and salty. The other entrees are like $20ish each and just okay. The food is very overpriced. 20% is forced for a table of three people which was not communicated ahead of time. Reply to restaurant’s response: we were there on 9/20 with Lucas. We enjoyed the atmosphere. However, the food was not up to par. We were disappointed.
We enjoy the place and the food. It was spicier than we thought. It wasn't a bad thing for me but my family was a bit bothered by it. Justake sure to ask if you don't like spicy as well. Otherwise it is a solid place to enjoy Vietnamese food. I loved the ramen!Food: 4/5
Sooooo good! So yummy! Owners are very friendly and welcoming. Service was good. Really cute and quaint little place with amazing food, drinks and dessert. The Banana Brown Butter Cake was to DIE for! We will definitely come again when we're back in Chicago!Food: 5/5
Great service - friendly waiter and energetic and fun owner. Food was innovative and tasty. I do feel that the rice noodles in the spring roll and the noodles in my soup were undercooked for my taste, perhaps they were going for the al dente style. But all in all great dining experience! I also wish that they would allow dogs, at least small ones that can sit on my lap, so that I can come visit often without leaving my pup at home!
This was one of the best meals from start to finish that my husband and I have had! The spring rolls were delicious and so fresh, the duck was cooked perfectly and the branzino was the best I’ve ever had. Definitely coming back!Food: 5/5
