I wanted to like Salty’s, especially because of all the good reviews and convenient location. However, after numerous trips and hundreds of dollars spent, I will not return. Perhaps the people who have rated it so highly have not been to other local fish stores like Nemo’s Reef in Charlotte. Compared to this store and others around, Salty’s has horrible costumer service and a very slim selection of fish. Additionally, their prices are significantly higher than anyone else around. I could overlook the inflated prices if they at least treated you well. There’s actually only one guy that is nice and likes to answer your questions. The rest of them act like they don’t want to be bothered and are VERY CONDESCENDING. If you’re new to this hobby, they will treat you like you’re an idiot. I definitely recommend trying some of the other places around.

This is the place to go if you need fish for your aquarium. They have fresh and salt water fish. All the fish looked very healthy and they have a great selection of Coral.  The staff are friendly and passionate about the fish.  Wether you are setting up your first tank with goldfish or want some exotic salt water fish, you should stop by this place and check them out.

Revised review since moving to new location off Exit 33. At this time they're still getting initial stock in and getting all the tanks fully established. Great staff- friendly and knowledgeable. While still heavy on saltwater, they're moving towards a robust freshwater selection as well. 2 floors of gorgeous stock. Glad to have such a great selection in Mooresville

I have been a customer of Salty's for several years now and these guys have always been nothing but helpful and willing to answer my endless stream of questions. The new location has very open and convenient parking (which wasn't previously the case) and an expanded layout inside with even more selection. Their display tanks are beautifully laid out, full of colorful fish and coral. I know you can sometimes find stuff a little cheaper online but this is one local shop that I'm happy to support. And even with that being said, their prices are competitive enough that I feel no inclination to shop elsewhere.
