For nearly 100 years, the Sandwich Historical Society has served its community and the surrounding region, documenting the history and changes that have taken place in our community over the centuries. For 94 years we have published an annual journal, the Excursion, with articles, research, and yearly summaries. Over time we have added four buildings to our roster, including a homestead from the 1850's, a Quaker meetinghouse which later served as a Grange Hall, a one-room schoolhouse, and large post and beam barn, which houses an extensive collection of horse drawn vehicles, including the Sandwich Concord Coach.
The mission of the Sandwich Historical Society is to collect and preserve the material culture and historical record of the town of Sandwich, and to use these resources in service to the public through educational experiences and outreach to the community.
