They have amazing sushi with a wide variety of rolls to choose from for everyone. Even people who are just starting with sushi can find one here to enjoy. You also can see the chefs making the sushi so you know it's fresh. It is hands down the best sushi I've ever had. I would just highly recommend making a reservation before coming here.

Amazing restaurant and I'm a regular, but I've been having very strange experiences with one new(ish) waitress. Most recently, I came to celebrate one night and was seated about five minutes to 6:00. My group of three hadn't really intended on making it for the happy hour specials, but we apparently made it and thought it was a happy surprise, and were excited by the prospect of affordable rolls. Note: we were also given and ordering off of a happy hour menu. We began ordering and the waitress asked if I'd like anything else and I said "an avocado roll would be hard to pass up at the $3 happy hour price" to which she responded "it's past 6:00 now, so we can't honor the happy hour specials" to which I replied "but we were given the happy hour menu...are you not going to honor it?" and she just shrugged, saying the host was a new guy and must have accidentally given us happy hour menus. No apologies. I don't understand how hard it is to honor your coworkers "mistake" (even though it technically wasn't one at all because we had been seated before 6:00...) or just make it right. Her poor customer service ruined the mood. It was only a couple dollars difference, but being so petty reflects poorly on the restaurant. I should say, though, that I know it isn't the restaurant, it's this one waitress. In any case, this was my second experience with her, and I remember the first being equally as uncomfortable. Food is amazing, service is really lacking these days.

Hands down the best sushi I've had. They use the freshest ingredients & its reflected in the great tasting food. Nice atmosphere with two styles/environments to choose from. Highly recommended to anyone interested in high quality food & a great experience!

This place has some of the best sashimi in mid-Michigan, and for that they'd get five stars-- if their service wasn't as bad as it sometimes is. It is very hit or miss; sometimes they are on the ball and sometimes they drop that ball and kick it around as if there aren't twenty people waiting to be seated. The servers are friendly and I'm sure they'd be more attentive, but they have to tend so many tables at once, things inevitably fall through the cracks. Also, parking is pretty atrocious in Hagadorn Plaza; make a reservation and get there early. Otherwise, Sansu is great. Awesome food, nice ambiance, I suppose it's a good place for a date, if that's your thing.

Unique seating with sunken floors! You have to take your shoes off to sit in the fancy seats but the food is excellent. Our group of four went on a busy Thursday night and the service was very slow. One in our group got her sushi roll after all of us were halfway through our entrees.
