They deserve a second five star rating, my husband just reviewed them, but I just wanted to say second that! The woman I talk to on the phone and the Installation technician Mike were both amazing to work with.  I get the feeling from them that they really care.  Thank you Sears!

My wife and I had a 25+ year old Dishwasher that finally gave out on us. So we went shopping for a new appliance. We had decided that Kitchen Aid was the brand that we wanted but not sure of which model. Making the incorrect assumption that Sears would only carry Kenmore brand we went to a competing Big Box store in the area. After selecting the most premium model they had at what seemed like a fair price we were put on the schedule for installation. The installation was to take place approximately 2 weeks after the date of purchase. At this point in time we had paid in full for the appliance. According to the instructions provided by the retailer the item was originally purchased from, we were to receive a call the day before the installation date with an approximate time for installation. No call was received and when we ended up phoning them they said that the product had not arrived in the Sandpoint area and they weren't coming on the date that was agreed upon two weeks earlier. Had we not called it would have been no call no show. An alternate date was scheduled an additional 10 days out. When that date arrived a less than professional installation tech arrived at our home and asked "Where is the appliance"? This was indicative of the level of organization from the beginning of our interaction with the Big Box competitor of Sears. They couldn't even communicate to their own Technician that the product to be installed wasn't on site. By this time my wife had had enough of washing dishes by hand. She contacted Sears and was provided with care and concern, they matched the price, and had it installed less than a week later. Lesson learned, it won't cost any more to buy with your locally owned Sears store, they carry most name brands, and the service and concern provided was so much better than the "I don't really care about your Dishwasher" attitude provided by the Big Box competitor. One doesn't often think of Sears as being a local, hometown, mom-and-pop shop, but this Sears is as "local" as they come. (In fact, this is a Sears "Hometown" franchise, and is indeed locally owned.) The staff is kind and knowledgable, and has patiently guided us -- with zero sales pressure, despite our hemming and hawing -- on several big-ticket purchases, and countless smaller ones.  When we recently had a problem with the corporate arm of Sears, both the staff and the owner himself intervened tirelessly on our behalf to get the issue resolved.  Simply put, we can't recommend the team at Sears Ponderay enough, and feel lucky to have them as a go-to resource for all our hardware/home/landscaping questions and supplies.

For the last 5 years this place has been like a home to me. I have been part of the team at the Ponderay Sears Appliance and Hardware and have enjoyed it throughly. I have never experienced a more family and customer oriented store than this one. Whatever you're searching for; be it appliances, tools, plumbing, electrical, etc. This team has it all. I guarantee that you will be treated better here than anywhere else. In my experience,when I walk through that front door, it is not welcome to Sears. It is welcome home...

Just moved and was looking for new appliances. Had a great experience (?! yes) because salespeople were friendly, up-front, not pushy,and helpful. I went o another location to check for the same appliances, was suddenly aware that the best prices, and customer relations, were totally better at Sears. So I'm happy to recommend Sears based on this not so unique experience - seems like the sales people are more reliable at Sears, and the products I've bought in the past (mowers and tools and appliances, etc.) have all held up well.
