I've been eating at shogun for a few years now and can honestly say that I've never had a bad experience. They have the best sushi I have ever had and their kitchen food is delicious! The servers genuinely care about their customers and I am always satisfied with the service. They offer a great sushi bar with quality chefs, like Paco and Sergio who have been here for over 18 years! I highly suggest trying the surfer roll and the spicy wahoo roll 👍🏼 They have the best happy hour in the valley and even offer $5 rolls and $7 lunch combos during the day! I would recommend Shogun to anyone; whether you like sushi or you want to try their Katsu chicken from the kitchen..you will not be disappointed!

Had a rather interesting experience with our last trip. We have been going here for a few years and the sushi has always been top notch, but on our last trip, the rolls we ordered were poorly made and the drink my girlfriend received was just poured into her glass. Unfortunately, her drink tasted so bad she didn't want to finish it 😕 

The sushi was the biggest disappointment for me. Our Shogun roll looked like it had no sake poured on top, it was very dry and the taste was inconsistent. Flavors were accented more than others in different sections of the roll, and pieces looked completely different in their composition than others. The caterpillar roll had the eel sauce dumped on the side and there was hardly any. The caterpillar was made better than the Shogun, but the presentation and the sauce still made it seem…bland. 

Our service was good, our waitress was very nice and cordial, thus my reason for the two stars instead of one. Hopefully they make a recovery, but we will stick with the places where ever have had consistent experiences.

Janeth is the best waitress there! The food is always great. Somewhat pricey, but great! Recommend California roll, shogun chicken, tempura and chicken katsu. Great ambiance too.

Delicious sushi! Me and my girlfriends went out for a bite to eat and had the best service! We will DEF be back for more!

Pretty rough dining experience. We first sat at the bar but couldn't get any service so moved into the dining room. We waited for a while for a server to greet our table and the place was pretty busy so we ordered one sushi roll and soy beans right when sat down.  45 minutes later, no sign of that sushi roll.

We also tried ordering beer from the tap but they were out of everything...Pretty bizarre. Waitress was unfriendly and not attentive. We finally just paid the bill and left without ever getting our food. 

Go somewhere else if you're looking for sushi...Or anything to eat for that matter.
