Its really pretty. A bit windy. It's on the south end of Coronado Island. A couple of minutes away from The Hotel De Coronado. Good for long walks and a day spent lounging at the beach. Perfect for kite-surfing. Especially in the afternoon. Wouldn't say it is ideal for surfing of an advanced level but you could definitely learn to surf there. As always since it is a sandy beach you must be aware of rip currents and follow the beach guidelines.

Nice beach, clear and clean water. That's the only praise I'll give this place. The RV campground is a huge downer. It's literally just a big asphalt parking lot. 3 days ago they started charging $10 for the dump station. That's $10 even for grey water. Way too many rules here as well. For example, you just got back from the beach and your feet are sandy. Too bad you're not allowed to use your outside shower on your trailer to wash your feet. Gate closes at 8pm so you're stuck there until 7am. Seriously feels like a prison.

After a long week and burring my friend that just committed suicide, I came to what use to be my favorite spot to get away from everyone and everything. I never new I had to pay for parking, one because I never got out of my car and two the parking lot is always empty and I spend about 15-30 minutes there on my break. 

While I was there the police officer approached my car and instead of being a human being and just asking me to one purchase a parking pass or leave, he proceeded to writing me a 75 dollar ticket. 

I have never witnessed such disregard for another human being this is why so many people dislike the police. Very sad. He then proceeded to give another lady that was also sitting in her car a ticket as well. There was 2 other cars in the parking area for a total of 4 cars. 

I hope the police officer was having a worse day then I was to do such a malevolent act. A simple "sir you can't be here without paying for parking" would have been sufficient. How much hate do you have to have towards your fellow men to do such a thing. To people that just enjoying the peace and quite for the briefest of moments but no, in this transitory, beckoning, delusive, paltry world, in this chaos of delusion and avarice, the officer needed to add more to the burden, with a malign and insensible act.

Not a bad place.!!  Really enjoying it!! Only 4 stars due to camp sites are kinda tight together.. but people are very nice and considerate and camp hosts are very nice and helpful.. Very clean camping area and beach.

I almost don't want to write a review on this hidden gem as to keep it to myself. $10 for day use to access it on weekends but it's almost like having your own private beach. Super clean, quiet and never crowded next to others. Pretty much the only beach I take the family to.
