Sole is an intimate Italian Mediterranean bistro with outstanding food and friendly service located downtown New Canaan. Sole's fresh fish is grilled to perfection over an open charcoal grill behind the hand carved wooden bar with high leather seated barstools where customers meet each other while dining at the bar. The drinks are excellent and the conversation lively if you listen carefully because Sole is definitely a noisy popular hangout. Sole is well known for their roasted garlic chicken grilled over an open flame right next to you. Personal pizzas are outstanding made with fresh vegetables and prosciutto. Enjoy dining and drinking outside on their heated brick patio on a bistro table in the sunlight and underneath the stars at night. Sole provides a romantic experience and great food at reasonable prices. Don't expect perfect service but do expect to have a good time dining at this casual popular restaurant. Reservations required Fridays and Saturdays but are suggested nightly.

Great food and service. Authentic Italian with a twist. One of my favorite classics is Carbonara. They used prosciutto and asparagus with the all important egg. Halibut was great, as was the veal Chop, mussels and clams. Carlo was great too!
